First of all, I cannot believe this video has only 3,000 views If you voted on an all-time City XI then he would feature in more teams than not. Cannot recall any player having that 'Air' Jordan leap that he used to have. Loved the backwards skip he used to have before launching a shot and loved the fact he almost always shot into the near post area Most of all - loved the goal vs Brentford
Still one of my all time favourite players, he defied gravity for half the headers he scored. He will almost certainly remain the only Hull City player to ever win Europe's highest scoring player in a season and he wasn't even a striker. Good video by the way BL, if you're browsing.
My Stu fave moment was the one at Bratfud on the day when, althoguh we didnt clinch promotion, it became inevitable. That day really felt like pay-back for when we gave them the south stand.
He's not proving quite as prolific now, four starts and three sub appearances for Glentoran so far this season, with just the one goal.
Great player, shame his breathing problems hindered him when we got to the Championship though that QPR game sticks in my memory!
I guess the award was for international and domestic goals combined then? Either way it was an amazing feat, especially considering he had a long lay-off through injury in the middle of that season.
Leroy Lita scored 24 that season, Elliot scored 27 and won the golden boot, though he had to share it with some bloke called Windass.
Oh i thought lita scored 29, well i was wrong! That Windass didn't fair too badly in 2008 for a team in amber
From Wiki: … 2004–05 season that Lita really established himself in the first team. That year he scored 29 goals in all competitions for club and one U21 international goal taking his tally to 30 for the season. … in 2004/05, Elliott enjoyed a fantastic season netting 27 goals in the league (which earned him the golden boot, albeit shared with Dean Windass) as well as 2 in the cup, while also starring for Northern Ireland. So Elliot got 3 more league goals (hence the Golden Boot), but it was as I remembered that Lita just pipped him by one goal in all competitions. Edit; Hang on Lita scored for England under 21, but surely Elliot got a few for Northern Ireland that season, so he probably did score more.
