I think local radio do pay for commentaries, though probably not a significant amount (at least at City).
The fact that it states that the BBC has made a renewed offer for broadcast rights but this has been turned down by the club suggests there is payment for local broadcast rights.
Logged into iPlayer using my regular IP address and could only buy audio coverage. Logged in with a VPN and I could buy video stream for the Preston game.
Yeah, no problem. I was never gonna try it in the UK cause it’s the broadcasting regulations only apply here anyway. I just picked a random country in Europe and it worked fine My only real concern is come match day, the VPN slows my internet connection down and the stream lags. I mean, I pay for my VPN so I’d expect at the very least there isn’t a lot of bandwidth loss.
No problem with my current VPN, Surf Shark slowing things down.Have had slight issues with other ones in the past.
In any case, it’s good way to watch 3pm kick off away games. It’s not legal but it’s not like a free illegal stream on some dodgy pop-up-riddled site. It’s still a tenner a game going to the club.
I use Avira Phantom. I’m gonna try watching some YouTube vids at 1080p or something on Twitch with it set to Poland. See if it holds up.
I have just had a look at some 4k hdr videos on you tube with my VPN set to Poland and it works fine. Watched a YouTube video on Twitch with no problems. The 4k on YouTube on my tablet looked better than the 4k hdr on my tele.
There are plenty of City supporters who will be on holiday abroad during the summer. The point is that if you are overseas, you can watch the game some supporters believe that you have to have a bank account abroad to watch a game. I would never encourage anyone to break the regulations imposed. Just for clarity, I live closer to Paris than Hull.
