After a much better performance by the sounds of things, we entertain massively underachieving Stoke. How are they this low, christ alive. That said, if you look at the characters on that wage bill, there are a few I can well imagine already on summer holiday mode. If we don't concede early, I think we can win this, setting up Wigan / Reading perhaps for a final go at bridging the gap. Be interesting what happens lineup wise if Collins ( I reckon he's out for a while but don't know this ) Chambers/ Skuse are available. I reckon we can nick this 1-0 ( rare clean sheet ) or perhaps 2-1.
I'd start the same team we played last night, maybe with Nolan coming in for Downes and Collins, if fit, in for Knudsen. What we absolutely should not do is drop players who performed well last night to accommodate Chambers and Skuse. I know I regularly beat the drum about how I think both players are past it, over-rated, and slow etc etc. But last night really solidified that opinion for me. We looked a lot more dynamic and proactive in midfield without old man Skuse there, slowing down the tempo and taking the sting out of our attacks. Chalobah plays that role a lot better and, with the diamond approach, allows Judge and Bishop to really flourish going forwards. I think we may be in danger of waxing lyrical too much over what was a credible draw against Derby but, had they taken two late opportunities where they hit the bar and hit a close range volley into the ground and straight up at Bart, they could have nicked the win. But credit where it's due - I stand by it, best performance I've seen this season from us, quite comfortably. Stoke is a tough one, they're in poor form but then again, so are we. I'd normally take a draw, but I don't think that's good enough now. 7-9 points over next three games would be amazing, but I think beyond us. 4-6 wouldn't necessarily be bad, but not enough. I think Reading will go on a run now, they've got the points buffer. If we could avoid finishing rock bottom, that would a small crumb of comfort ... Oh sod it, 2-1 Town - why not?
We always seem to have at least one defensive howler per game,so one goal is not going to be enough. Can we score two though? 1-1 again?
There will be changes as I can't imagine there is anyone who who plays Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday and not start to feel the effects.. I wouldn't be surprised to see Chalobah & Bishop given a rest with Skuse and Nolan coming back in. Possibly even Harrison for one of the strikers.. Though hopefully Judge will be able to go again as we don't have anyone else in the squad with his skill set and the recent set up has begun to showcase his abilities. I can see us winning this in typical 1-0 ****house fashion (similar to our wins against Rotherham & Wigan)
I can't see Judge playing on Saturday - he looked absolutely drained at the end. Nolan will be in for Downes, and maybe Dozzell for Bishop. If chambers is fit, he'll come in, Kenlock dropped, and Knudsen back out wide - or he might shift Pennington on the right and dropping Bree. Saying that, i can't see us winning this one. Think we'll be too knackered, and Stoke will just be too good for us. We might squeeze a draw, but i'll go for a 0-1 defeat
Quaner and Keane up front, much less confident with that news. Edwards back on the bench though. Woolfy has signed until 2022. Potentially our best player.
OK guys I need a helping hand and some exciting commentary please now and then. Usual crap service from iFollow and cant listen. Hows it going?
Knudsen cock up, 1-0. On the plus side though Bolton and Reading both getting walloped. Sounds like we have not really turned up so far.
Damn, that was a stupid goal to give away, what a calamity in defence! We've played some good stuff today and the effort is there to see, we just need to cap it off with goals.
Thanks guys, I now have dear old Suffolk radio, online, which I shouldn't get, while I am staying in France for a few days! If we get that elusive goal, we could and must win this, as other games have gone our way as Hampy says. Golden chance to reduce the deficit. Come on Town! Lets have a surge, keep yer heads up!
