Gene Hackman will be starring as Keith Dawe in a new film early next year.

    "The Forest Connection 3"

Unlikely to be very successful at the box office!

Maybe a bit of underwhelming is what we all need. It seems whenever we get excited about the exciting possibility anything, it comes back to haunt us.

Steve Coppell - Wooo Hooooo, he will take us to the next level and the Prem!!!!!!!!
David James - Just finished playing in the world cup for England, legend of a keeper. Wooo Hoooo
Colin Sexstone - The berk has finally gone, someone with a brain will come in
Sean O'Driscoll - YAY! Finally some decent attacking, tidy and entertaining football.

Maybe employing someone most people have a low opinion of will help curb any expectancy at doing well, leaving a huge amount of room for us to be surprised!

Maybe the fact that we are only a few places above Cheltenham in the whole football pyramid tells its own story

He wasn't a failure at Notts County, and thats about the same level as we are at, offered an extended coaching contract for 2013 - 14 season by HR at QPR, so Harry rates his coaching, turned it down, if he gets the job at City (and it looks highly likely) we have to get behind the man, and lets be fair, he can't be any worse that your messiah Sod.

A clear concern would be this if appointed.

Does Steve Cotterill fit in with the ethos being applied below that post?

From the weekly six year olds and the Community trust sessions, from the nine years olds at the academy, to the under eighteen team we could be coaching skills that are not so necessary if Cotterill pursues certain paths.

Aspects of the club away from the XI could become redundant, or lose emphasis. That has a knock on effect for recruitment of players in the area. Clubs like Southampton and WBA are all over the place, on the ground everywhere. City to compete will have to highlight by its pathway that they offer real opportunity to parents for their children.

The next appointment could change the course of the FC ... Again.

Eusebio is still alive, albeit with a dodgy ticker. I wonder if he could get goals for us from a wheelchair?

I didn't say i wanted SC as manager, i'm saying get behind him if he's appointed, i'm assuming your neck was arched, watching SoD's team playing football at the back, then pumping that long ball forward to the little man up front, seems like nothings going to change then.

Which did not always occur e.g The last match in charge, and numerous others.

The intent was to play. Anybody can see that.

A serious point. If a club gets associatated with a certain limited style of football e.g physical and direct that will have an impact on recriuitment.

Why send a kid with well rounded skills to a club that will not play a type of football that utilises skill!

It works both ways. If City long term become associated with football that requires real touch and technique they become less attractive to young players whose game is more based on speed and aggression/the physical.

If Steve Cotterill is appointed he should be put under very close scrutiny, and what happens at othet levles of the FC.

My son is part of Citys player pathway. We should all expect high standards and an attempt to play football the right way.

... And anybody can see that the pass it back, pass it sideways, pass it back, go 1 step forward, pass it sideways, pass it back tactic, clearly didn't work either. No one wants to see hoofball. A parent also doesn't want their child associated with a failing team in the bottom tier of the English game.

It's about getting a right blend of everything. Clever one touch, pass and move football when it is called for, direct hustle and bustle, physical football when it's necessary with the right players to play it. SOD's failure was to recognise his brand of football wasn't working, and then failed to put the appropriate players in place when the ball was sent long.

I genuinely don't believe things can be worse, and although SC doesn't excite me, I'd take him over SOD any day of the week.
