If you fancy a change from downing pints then I've had a few pleasant evenings in the London Cocktail Club in Oxford Circus. They do have them right across London though

They are pretty much as described on their website "A serious drinkers cocktail bar...Don’t expect the usual contemporary chic cocktail bar, what you can expect is dark, down and dirty…"

We've started there during happy hour though, which is 4.30 - 7 Tuesday to Sat, it might be pricey later on

If the monopoly board sounds like a lot of work then you can always do the circle line pub crawl (bit more difficult since they extended it to Hammersmith).

Now there's a thing. Is the soon to be father -in-law going because this can always put a downer on such occasions. Not a good start to married life when your wifes dad has seen you being noshed off by a tranny in Soho.

I'm going on an Army reunion in September in London.

We're kicking off ( hopefully not literally) in the The Lord Moon of the Mall near Trafalgar Square.

It's a Wether's and there's 25 - 30 of us meeting up. My mate ,who has done the recce, reckons they're fine with large groups of rowdy blokes.

A bit like Frankies Vauxhall Tavern then.
