well what would you call someone telling you you must wear red shirts with a dragon and the word Malaysian sprawled across the middle of the shirt???? would you not say they are more concerned about the malaysian people that the cardiff fan......of course they are and most fans know that and its only the true passionate fans that say it, they wont sell their club down the river for anyone and good on them.....explain why they want to ditch the bluebird logo that has been proudly worn since anyone can remember and why change to red shirts that now resembles our cousins Wrexham.......dont give me the old pony it is unlucky because i can show you photos of malaysia playing in blue......there is more to this than meets the eye and a lot of fans know this....christ they have not even cleared cardiff's debt that they promised.....I can understand the youngsters not giving a toss what happens but the older fans are pissed off about being sold down the river. The malaysians have amassed more debt in their short time than cardiff had when they took over,,,,it was about £30 million everyone was saying on here then and now it gone past the £75 million......they said they have paid some of the debt but they were suppose to clear the debt, they have not paid sam the man yet....jeez i thought the riddler was bad but this bunch are even worse......I agree with the ones who are fighting back as its their team and not the malaysians......

ahem, I'd call them investors. Go and read all the other threads related to the rebranding and you will see all your questions have already been answered.

I disagree Dai - they have already invested quite heavily and the 'Sam the man' situation is in hand - from my understanding they have made a few offers and are negotiating to clear the debt. I have seen no evidence to suggest they are 'selling the club down the river', instead I see a group of businessmen who are trying to turn CCFC into a sustainable club who can hopefully compete in the top flight - compare this with the Glaziers at MUFC; United were a club with a very healthy balance sheet until the Glaziers borrowed to buy them, and then transferred the loan to United - instantly creating a massive debt for the club.

I may be proved wrong, but my opinion is that the Malaysians do seeem to have the best interests of CCFC at heart - and they do seem to be honourable people who are making shrewd and intelligent business decisions. The change of kit colour will be forgotten very soon if the team start achieving and realising their potential, and the Bluebird tag will always be there - regardless of the colour of the shirt - history is far more than just the colour the team plays in - CCFC's history will always be there and the current rebranding is just a new chapter in that proud history.

Remember that just a few short years ago we were building a stadium at a time when our continuing paticipation in the league system was in doubt! We benefitted from some shrewd business brains to see us through the crisis - Cardiff are now doing the same and I have every confidence that the Malaysian investors are dealing with the issues in a balanced and intelligent manner.

    Good evening Dai.

I think perhaps you are missing the whole concept of the rebranding. Apart from red being more appealing to the far eastern community, the colour is the national colour of Wales and Cardiff is the capitol city. As for the logo, again this has been changed to move with the corporate images of the city as a whole - we have a Red Dragon food area, a red dragon appears on our buses and most of the tourist information.

I'm not sure that you can legitimately call someone less passionate just because they don't have a problem with the changes. As I said in an earlier post, supporting a team is a state of mind, and passions can embrace the way this club is coming out from the dark ages and moving into a whole new exciting era. Cardiff City Football Club is the most important thing for the fans - not the colour.

As for the business side of things, well again, with all respect, I don't think you have a firm grasp on what is going on at the club. I think your fellow Swan has covered it well enough, so I won't overdo the points.

    Good to talk Dai. <ok>

are you 100% sure on that...many cardiff fans are not..<ok>

    Hi Clingo..<ok>
Many fans on here with both cardiff and swansea knows than my long term best friend who lives a couple of doors away has been a long term cardiff ST holder and he is one of them that will never set foot in cardiff stadium to watch them again and has sent his ST back for a refund. Now he knows a hell of a lot about cardiff and its not what most fans think. There was no need for re branding at all. and all they have done since they have been there is amass a load of debt.....I'm sorry im with the out brigade as nothing will come good of this and it will all end in tears when they wont achieve their goal....they dont give a fig about the fans all they care about is the malaysian people and if you think that you will get many fans over there then ask the other lower league clubs who have Malaysian owners...It wont happen and when they finally realises that they are not making the money they thought they would then they will leave cardiff in a dreadful mess....you cant trust these guys an inch and only the gullible are falling for it......all what im saying is from a 40+ year cardiff supporter who is ashamed that people have sold the club down the river and will never be the bluebirds he has supported through good times and bad but this is unexceptable behaviour by foreigners that is a step to far.....

Dai, I'm not one to mock spelling or grammatical errors as there is more to life and ultimately this is a football forum, not part of the Plain English campaign. That being said, could you at least try to punctuate? It would make your posts far easier to read for the rest of the English speaking world. I don't expect, or ask, for perfection. I no doubt make mistakes also, but please, at least try.

I believe my fellow bluebirds have comprehensively answered your points, so one assumes you're done here and may not even happen across this post. Here's hoping.

What a load on uninformed, unintelligent drivel.

Dai has surpassed (or should i say, surpi$$ed) himself with that. Looks like his disillusioned neighbour was Dai's "man on the inside" when Dai told tales of our imminent demise a year or two ago - and he got that wrong too.

Does his disillusioned neigbour actually exist or his he a figment of Dai's wild and vivid imagination - and called Gerald?

Or has Dai been secretly sneaking some of Aber's stash?

If Gerald does exist then like the other 89, if they all take the offer (which is unlkely), he will not be missed, 40 years a supporter or not.

    Hi again Dai.

I'm sure your friend is upset over the changes, and if you look back through this thread, I have said that we should be understanding of those who are finding events difficult to deal with. At the end of the day, and thank goodness, we all see things differently. This season will be my 52nd as a supporter of Cardiff City and I have to say I am feeling very positive about the changes. It's about time this sleeping giant moved forward and created a dynasty for the current and future generations of supporters. I'm not niaive enough not to realise all the business implications in all of this, but be it by chance or design, there is no doubt that a future is being built. I can assure you that the majority of the 3000 of us who stuck by the club during it's dark hours will be delighted to see that we are making strides to ensure that we don't slide into obscurity again.

Once more, I think there is a conceptual misunderstanding of how Cardiff fans see the situation, but you seem pretty determined in your opinion so perhaps it's best left.
