Yes: A) Tan lying to the fans. This not exploitation and he hasn't actually lied. B) Tan effectively holding the club to ransom. He didn't hold anyone to ransom, he said the re-branding was going ahead and it is. C) the main reason for the kit change being Far East marketing opportunities. Yes, that is part of his vision. D) the selfish imposition of Far Eastern imagery onto the badge, disguised as Welsh imagery, The new badge is garbage but there is a dragon on the old badge as well. D) having read the report from the meeting held with disgruntled ST holders, the total lack of grace and vision from the Cardiff-based directors. Not the best performance from a board member who seemed ill at ease and not very well informed. Having said that the meeting actually was very informative but reading the various reports nothing really new in what was said. So your claim Cardiff city is being exploited doesn't stand up to scrutiny. Having already sunk £40 million into the club already and not yet received a penny back is hardly exploitation. He has stated he wants the home shirt to be red and the dragon more prominent on the badge so he can market Cardiff City FC in Asia. He is currently in conversation with the league officials with a view to televising Cardiff City home games in Asia. This will benefit all leagues teams as they get a share of the sponsorship revenue. It will raise the profile of Cardiff City FC in Asia which in turn may well generate more sponsorship agreements at home and in Asia. So sorry fella, if that's exploitation then bring it on. Those who can't see what an opportunity this is will never see, but that's their decision.
why would they want to come back, they have made their feelings known, it is not their club anymore and they wont support a team they dont recognise....thats fair enough from what i can see.....neither would i in the circumstances..
taff there wont be that many watching tans team, it premiership only they are interested in...they are conning you mate. why change to red shirts ???? there is no point if they are going to follow cardiff then they would follow the bluebirds in blue shirts......it dont make sense and there is a hidden agenda somewhere....he tries to give you the old pony that blue is unlucky.. the malaysian team play in blue and he has changed his mind saying that you can play in blue away from home......so cant be that unlucky can it.....what has happened to the deal of clearing all the debts????where is this £100 million to clear the debt?? why try and pay sam in installments when they promised to pay all debts??? It know wonder 70 ST holers want their money back and thats not counting the non ST holders....you have been duped big time and it looks like this is only the beginning.......its a crying shame that the bluebirds no longer exist just so a foreign owner can give his own people a team to support in british football....i would be very angry too...
How many watch the team will depend on many other things than changing the colour of the home strip. They have stated they want premiership football, never been an issue. Why change to red shirts? Read my previous thread! We were always going to play in blue away from home, that was announced in the very first statement. The debt has been reduced but as announced we are currently losing approximately £1 million a month. Why not pay Sam in instalments? Better money in your pocket than an others, however, Sam has rejected many offers to settle the debt, This is a power play between the two. Everyone one has a free will, if some wish to return their seasons tickets then that is their decision. The bluebirds still exist because they are Cardiff City. The name of the club is Cardiff City not the bluebirds. It's a nick name nothing more. The bluebird still appears on the new kit so no real change there either. Do me a favour before you post next time, read up on your choice of topic before posting. All your points have been addressed time and again on this and other message boards. Do I like the new strip? No Do I like the new badge? No Would I rather the club go into administration rather than accept approximately £100 million of which £40 million has already been provided? Do I really need to answer that one? Ok, a resounding yes bring in the money.
The Malaysian national football team or the Malayan Tigers play in black and yellow. Epic fail all round Dai.
So many opinions on what we "should" be feeling about the club, especially from those who have never been Cardiff fans. It's fair enough for fans of other clubs to tell us how they would feel in similar circumstances and I'm sure that is respected by all on here. However, they are not in the same position as us and, as we know about most experiences in life, nobody really knows how they WOULD feel until they are in the same position and feel it for real. I was particularly interested in an earlier contribution from a visitor who suggested that we had turned into sheep by accepting the rebranding of our club. Apart from being a little insulting to Cardiff fans by questioning their ability to form a considered point of view, the argument is fundamentally flawed. Surely there is a massive argument to made that the people who are slaves to tradition are the sheep, and that forward thinking and vibrant clubs like Cardiff are leaders rather than followers. Changing from yellow and brown quarters and changing the name to Cardiff City were changes made to move the club forward. I fully respect people's attachment to tradition, and if we're all honest, this change will take some getting used to, but we are Cardiff City supporters and like the supporters of all clubs, supporting our team is a state of mind.
Morning cling, perhaps I'll change my name to 'wewontfacetheigmonyofgoingintoadministrationonceletalonetwice'. One of my favourite string of letters is 'opportunityisnowhere'. I've used it a number of times in presentations and most people read it as 'opportunity is nowhere', where the positive thinkers see 'opportunity is now here'. I'd like to think for Cardiff City it's the latter.
a) when has he lied? he's come through on every promise. b) he had a plan, it got partially leaked by someone with their own agenda, people kicked off, he said he'd need to reevaluate the plan. quite normal. c) part of the aforementioned plan d) not read it - cant comment - was it released by the club? "the only unchanging constant" .. what? except the shirt colour you mean? evidently not, as they've walked away. not sure on this bit mate, think you're a bit confused. he owns the club! he has a vision, the club was going bust, it needed big action and im for one willing to give him a chance. no not aimed at you though feel free to give your thoughts do you really believe that? come on. being a bit silly lol i like this bit, because all of your accusations against an upstanding Mr Tan who has done nothing wrong are backed up by incontrovertible evidence. not relevant christ it was an off the cuff comment - no need to pull out the law book i said the point of a business not a football club, and no from our perspective it isnt. put £40m into yours and say it dont matter about making money. again, thats a silly comment. couldnt care less Again, a bit confused. He's put in £40m, he's negotiating with Langstone, we're looking at expanding the FL into Asia, we're looking at targets etc etc He has not broken a single promise and I have no reason to distrust him at this stage. I'm astonished and flattered you cared enough to write such a long winded response, however I don't agree with much. Although, it was refreshing to talk to a fan about our differences in opinion without it descending into aggression.
from Twitter: Barrie McAuliffe ‏@MAcMcAuliffe I'm told it'll be the start of August. Lots for store staff to sort >> RT Any news on the release dates of the new shirts?
Great way to dodge a lot of salient points, Pont. I'll reply to the ones you've bothered to put thought into tomorrow(/later today).
Jerel, I don't think I dodged salient points in my response (thread # 41) so please let me if you have any further points to add.
If you don't like the red shirts why not refuse to wear one? Just keep wearing a previous seasons blue shirt ? IF Hull City changed to red I just wouldn't wear one. If there's no sales won't the owners ditch the idea... Good luck in the coming season it's going to be closer then last season IMO .
the malaysians with threaten to pull the plug if they dont wear red shirts at home matches and if that dont work they will insult you further by banning blue shirts.......you will obey them or else.......
Fairplay Dai! No wonder you get so much grief on your own board. You can change your identity but you are the same old daft Dai.
