Another fingers crossed job then. One of them has to click eventually.
I think the Dickinson story may be because nobody thinks we would stand a chance of signing him Mexijan so it is easier to just assume he is training. I wouldn't mind that one as a signing as said.
I think it's safe to say he will be pretty good for you. Perhaps I gave the wrong impression, he can be absolutely unplayable on his day. The trouble is that a lot of people have a preconceived idea that he's a target man, when if you imagine him a foot shorter then you'd probably be bang on the money!
He'll put a shift in and give defenders something to think about with his pace, but he doesn't score too often. It's also proved difficult for him to strike up a good partnership as his first touch is nasty - although he was our first choice last season and I would have liked us to give him another season as third choice.
When he first joined us, he looked a real cut above for about two months, scoring some absolute crackers. I can't find the footage, but he scored a brilliant goal when we beat Vale 3-2 on their own patch; running from the halfway line and beating three players. If you can get that kind of form out of him consistently, then he'll be the best signing you've made for a long time, but I think that's the problem.
Like I said, decent pro with a good attitude. I think he'll be a valuable asset for you, but he may divide your fans' opinions in the same way he did ours.
PS: He is good in the air when it comes to defending corners, when direction doesn't matter as much!
