You'll have the wrath of Mrs LaLa to contend with if you say her beloved Andy might be losing. Luckily he SCRAPED through.....so your forgiven... joe.
I think it's safe to say he will be pretty good for you. Perhaps I gave the wrong impression, he can be absolutely unplayable on his day. The trouble is that a lot of people have a preconceived idea that he's a target man, when if you imagine him a foot shorter then you'd probably be bang on the money! He'll put a shift in and give defenders something to think about with his pace, but he doesn't score too often. It's also proved difficult for him to strike up a good partnership as his first touch is nasty - although he was our first choice last season and I would have liked us to give him another season as third choice. When he first joined us, he looked a real cut above for about two months, scoring some absolute crackers. I can't find the footage, but he scored a brilliant goal when we beat Vale 3-2 on their own patch; running from the halfway line and beating three players. If you can get that kind of form out of him consistently, then he'll be the best signing you've made for a long time, but I think that's the problem. Like I said, decent pro with a good attitude. I think he'll be a valuable asset for you, but he may divide your fans' opinions in the same way he did ours. PS: He is good in the air when it comes to defending corners, when direction doesn't matter as much!
He was losing when i heard on the radio on my way home. Listening on five live... I managed to get in and watch the last 2 games.. and he did play well then.. but he will not win it surely? Hope you and the wife are well Plym, how is the eye?
Thanks Lenny, he could get a couple own Goals then from corners!! we have to give him a chance and hope he does it.. he has to be better than Chadwick? he is for sale or FREE? you should watch his footage!! Why do you say he be better a foot shorter? i am 6 ft 4 and would not want to be shorter? also i was good in the air,, but a defender .. thanks any way for the comments and we will let you know how he gets along..
OK thank you joe.........I've had both done now......check-up next week....and if ok get some new glasses a month later....probably just for reading.
I used to be 7ft 6ins but had to get off the chair eventually. We always give people a go before condemning them Lenny. Trouble is we have ended up doing that to too many over a few seasons now hence the "one of them has to click" comment. Argyle fans are like most of them everywhere. Moan bleddy moan moan and they could all play better themselves as well as sort out the training and tactics. One thing fans everywhere appreciate is a trier and somebody who plays as if they give a toss. We have lacked a big player so he fits that bill. I was almost in tears watching Murray and finally had to let the tears flow when he won. That's because we will still get loads of Murray Murray Murray everywhere and it isn't quite over for another year. Bleddy tennis. Rather watch paint dry.
Steady on sensible.......you could touch a raw nerve with Mrs LaLa.....you could end up wearing a smashed racquet as a neck tie.
Oiii you lot discussing tennis, how very dare you on the squad watch thread!!!!! Andy remains British for a few more days at least until he reverts back to that bloody useless jock when he loses Bonus is that it starts at 7am here so her indoors gets up to watch and I actually get a cuppa made for me Never understood why mens tennis is on TV..... womens tennis obviously has merits. If Marv can defend at corners then he is a great signing for us as last season we suffered more on crosses than Jesus did. As for the I could do better fans if any of them are left footed they may get a chance. Chadwick would be a great signing for the Shrews top league experience and has scored 30 a season for the past 10 years without fail, check out my Wiki page on him
Mexi, give it up man. Nobody, that is noobody in this entire universe and beyond, is going to sign Chadwick no matter how hard you try. I applaud you for trying however and give you 10 points for effort. Lets just look on the bright side. Sheridan says he ain't goinna play him and at least we aren't paying both him and Feeney this term. That's a 50% bonus right there. You can just see it though, first game of season and all the forwards apart from Chadwick have been crocked in pre-season. Feeners is still hanging around the cloakroom and they have to offer him a contract of sorts and both of them turn out. Bollex I've just had a nightmare and I'm still awake. Tell me it won't happen........
At last some news on Onismor Bhasera.......his agent has said that he has been offered a trial by Turkish Super League side Sanica Boru Elazigspor. They are looking for a left back and start pre-season training next week. His agent also said that he has had an offer from a Championship side. So that sounds like goodbye from Mr Bhasera.....his version of I'm not bothering to come back...so be it...we'll survive without you that's for sure.
Turkish Super League maybe, dunno not really watched that much of it!!!! Championship not good enough. Considering the number of teams that have been chasing Baz, allegedly, over the past 2 years not that many firm offers for him, or any. Even in admin no-one came in for him even at a bargain basement price. He is one of those players who stands out in a game for physical effort and presence but I think when they actually look closely at his game the weaknesses become obvious. Good luck to him for the effort he has put in for us he deserves it, a pox on him for the way he has behaved recently. No class Baz, no class......... Roll on Ryan be nice to have a genuine left-back again been awhile since we have. Hmmm I wonder if Sanica Boru Elazigspor are looking for a striker, Chadwick is half Turkish I believe (Never surrender Sensible, NEVER SURRENDER!!!!!)
I assume Bhasera was one of the last on Championship wages....we had to be realistic with our new offer to him.....and that is why no firm offers for him I guess.
That's the whole point isn't it. There was no way on this planet he was going to get offered the same sort of wages as before. Record shows he was here for several seasons which included relegation and basement battles to stay in the league. Even becoming player of the season wasn't exactly a glowing recommendation considering the mottly lot we had. He was a decent player for us. That's about it though. I agree with the "not championship" class. I wish him well wherever he ends up but you are right about lack of class Mexijan. Keep up the pressure on the Chadwick sale Mexi, I gave in too soon I know. As a novel exercise we could try offering him with a dowry rather than even free or charge a fee.
Feeney isn't our's though plym he is out of contract but hanging around to see if he can get one and training with the squad. It's a bit like the smellie bloke on the bus. He always gets off at the last stop.
Not that he would necessarily be better shorter, more that people's preconceptions of his playing style may be more accurate if he was!
