Local boy Ryan Dickson was seen at Argyle training this morning........moved down from Yeovil where he has been on trail.
Wouldn't mind this one but word is he is just training. Bhasera contract withdrawn from offer also which to be honest is only right and proper.
He is rather injury prone having picked up several very nasty splinters in his backside. With his inactivity over the last few seasons there maybe a chance in him signing, he needs to prove his ability again and failed to impress at Yeovil. Would be a good signing he is way better, or should be, than Div 2 but could see him going to a higher league as well. Local boy which may have some sway. Genuine left-back and class not so sure on his career choices over the last few years seems to be happy to take the cash and risk a splinter or two. Baz soooooo disappointed in his attitude has soured my memory of him. No great loss though better at playing football than playing in a football team. His twitter has had a message "Plan ur work and work ur plan! Plym" not sure how to read into that one.
Not sure where this feeling that Dickson is only training comes from, saw it on Pasoti too. From Argyle website One player who is on trial with Argyle this week is former Pilgrim Ryan Dickson, who has recently been released by Premier League Southampton. Ryan, 26, has been training with Yeovil Town in last couple of weeks and John said: “Ryan has just come in today. We said: ‘Come in today and we’ll have a look at you.’ “We all know his potential and we know he’s been playing at a higher level. He’s a Plymouth lad. I’ll make a decision in the next couple of days or week or so.” Read more at http://www.pafc.co.uk/news/article/targeting-the-left-891148.aspx#WoX1jwJvjTH3Q6XD.99 Martin John on trial too as rumoured.
Didn't get 48 for us! Don't think he got 20. He's a decent option, certainly at League Two level, to have in your squad. He'll give you pace and he does work fairly hard, but lacks the stamina to chase for 90 minutes a game. The skinniest footballer on earth and probably the weakest 6'4" centre forward out there, but he's got a few tricks on him. What he won't do is win headers (woeful in the air), hold the ball up, score loads or be consistent. He's pretty profligate in front of goal but is capable of producing moments of magic, and if he's third choice then he's a cracking signing. Always makes an impact from the bench against tiring legs, and I think he'd suit a wide forward role in a 4-3-3 to be honest - pacy, tricky and got a decent cross on him. ****e first touch though. He goes with our best wishes - likeable guy who is obsessed with his clothing brand (don't let his interview fool you!) Always a trier and willing to be frank and honest in interviews than coming out with regurgitated PR waffle.
Cheers for the feedback Lenny considering last season our top scorer was a loanie, who played for a couple of months, and got 6 it will not take much for him to improve our attack!!!!
it does not sound he is much better on the floor!!! we will have to judge him not listen to others...
it looks like he played 63 times for Shrewsbury scoring 18 goals so know idea were the other stats come from about 48 goals.. does not look like he has scored that many in his career?
Another fingers crossed job then. One of them has to click eventually. I think the Dickinson story may be because nobody thinks we would stand a chance of signing him Mexijan so it is easier to just assume he is training. I wouldn't mind that one as a signing as said.
Marvs stats seem to vary depending where you look. Shrews 18 goals from 72 (20) appearance seem the best I can find, 63 league scoring 15. He got 11 in Shrews promotion season which beats all our current strikers total added together from last season. From Lennys comments I am still further convinced we will be looking at a 4 3 3 next year. He maybe 6ft4 but looks like he would have to run around in the shower to get wet, I think his height gave a lot the impression he was going to be a target man it now appears not. Impact sub after Aless or Vass has run the legs of the left back and wham bam thank you mam.....I hope.
Have to admit I got the impression he was an Akinfenwa type. Only half the player though it seems. Just as tall but half as wide. Like all new players he will get the benefit of any doubt from me until either confirmed he is worth it or he is proved to be crap. The really good thing is that with every signing like this Chadwick goes down the order and Feeney has less chance of grabbing a contract. I really really really don't want to see either in our squad next season.
Talking of Adebayo Akinfenwa (the beast) he has re-signed for one of his old clubs on a free....Gillingham, having been released by Northampton.
Do you know that's the second time that's happened to me: first the missing home fixture in August, now, unbelievably, unreliable data in Wikipedia. I know I quoted the figures that were on there yesterday, now they've changed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvin_Morgan
I see the stats were edited at 15:47 on 1 June. That's after I posted. I wonder where Sheridan looked him up before signing...... I'm wondering who his clothing range is aimed at. Basketball players?
Maybe... notDistant the cockroaches driving your computer need replacing.....they don't live forever. You now as well as anyone that what shows on wikipedia is only as good as the person who put it in......might of been sensible ???
Question is, who'd have an incentive to inflate his goals scored tally by a factor of 3 just when he's looking for a new club? Who says football agents don't earn their money? Here's a page from the Marvelous Marvin catalogue:
A quick update to Chadwicks Wiki page seems in order, Barcalona and Real Madrid will be fighting to sign him by the time I finish Still under impressed with signings so far not bad but no real WOW to them. Aless seems a good one and none of the others are bad but do not see how we have strengthened from last term. Take out Cox, Byran, Banton, PCH, Baz and Charles and we have not really covered what has left let alone improved. I know there is time left but we still need leftback, leftmid and central defender plus another midfielder would be a bonus. See what happens in the next week or so and maybe my mood will change Dickson signs - Happy as SEB locked in a Dewdneys Banton signs - Happy as Shilts in a bookies (with someone elses credit card) Good link to tracking comings and goings in Div 2 here http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/league-two/transferuebersicht/wettbewerb_GB4.html
