GK: Patterson, Bass, Carney
RB: Hume, Gooch, Huggins
CB: Batth, Ballard, Anderson, O'Nien
LB: Cirkin Alese
CM: Neil, Michut, Ba, Ekwah
RW: Roberts, Lihadji
AM: Pritchard, Amad
LW: Clarke, Bennette
CF: Gelthardt

Injured for season: Embleton, Evans, Stewart
Currently injured (back soon): Gooch, Cirkin, Pritchard

So, technically we have 2 players for every position expect striker and that's the one that leaves everyone nervous. Suppose if/when Gelthardt gets injured we can use Amad/Pritchard as the false 9 again, but there's not much scope for coping with multiple injuries.

Be interested to know what Mowbray's thoughts on the Jan window are. It's fine margins, but Lampard not getting the push and Stewart not getting injured and we're probably all sat here feeling good about things.

Mowbray won’t have a bad word to say and wouldn’t challenge anything. He’ll just get on with it.

Can Rigg be included in that squad out of interest

As I just said in the transfer thread. Those that are here and have been playing all season are all much better than they were in august. They’re more experienced and they’re more confident.

I’m confident that if we have another striker less patch (and let’s face it, it seems there will likely be at least one league game without gelhardt), we are much better equipped to deal with that now than we were in September. Especially considering we now have a much more solid defence than we did then.

Good post mate. We're playing better football all over the pitch. We will come unstuck once or twice, a mistake is always there, but, overall, we're seeing some good football from these lads.

Id add watson to that list as well, i wouldnt be surprised to see him get game time between now n the end of the season
Zak and Caden would not let us down either if given a game or two, up front I think we could have looked into bringing Diamond back, another wild card and not part of the long term might be Kyle Lafferty.

Would be better than bringing nobody at all in. At least he can hold it up.

Goals win games and as we only have the one striker that’s my only concern with the squad really. We desperately needed a striker signing in the window on top of gelhardt but we have to go with what we have got now and hope it’s adequate.

Who would we leave out though, bearing in mind we have Pritchard and Gooch coming back as well.

Gelhardt wouldn't come to play second fiddle to a fading 35 year old, Stewart fair enough.

Personally I'd prefer us to develop the style we've played so effectively this season.

Some of our goals, like Clarke at Reading, aren't stoppable and we always look like we have a goal in us.

And how long would we sign Lafferty for ...

... end of the season and his heart won't be in it, 2 years and we end up with a 37 year old playing at Eppleton.

Gooch is a full back these days and Pritchard an attacking midfielder.

We need a proper centre forward who can hold it up and be a presence up there. We just don’t have it. Lafferty won’t sign, he was just an example somebody had used.

Gelhardt could be unbelievable but it’s still bonkers to only have him available. it’s done now, let’s see how we go…

The whole team was awful tbf. I just can’t see how we go the rest of the season with only Gelhardt. It’s madness. Some games and especially away from home, we’ll need a presence and an out ball.
We definitely need a physical presence up there like either to start alongside Gelhardt or to come on later in the game to hold it up front and be a nuisance.
