What was the unofficial line?

It's long story and you need to look at her old man and the party/parties he represented and some of the people he idolised and his education agenda. The schools he and malala speak of are his private schools in the main not schooling in general. Its all about the syallabuses these school's teach. Se issue in Afghanistan

Also the BBC and their search for a blogger and him pushing his 11 year old forward even though she was too young. Then the blogs themselves and whonwas really writing them

As I say its long, but worth knowing that her own mother is being taught by her at home now in brum and not school and the men arrested and given life sentences have been secretly acquitted

Isn't that all the official story, though? It's all in her Wikipedia entry, for example.

Context.
The problem is that it's often debatable and people will often claim unorthodox interpretations are true, if it suits them.
This is true of virtually all religions, of course.

I do agree with context.

Problem is that people don't want to see the real thing at times. Usually due to baggage they bring into an argument

The whole FGM thing for example isn't really up for interpretation if you read the passages and the direct tafsir

Problem is people who want to knock it don't or haven't read it and tbiae who defend don't look atbthw original.source preferring to stick to what they know

Its a big issue on both sides truth be told. As I mentioned I grew up on a Sufi vibe and the books from decades/centuries back quote a line about a famous imam learning 3 things from sufis. This is used as "proof" for Sufism by sufis

Me being the pedant I can be started to look back and sure enough this quote existed. Problem was the famous imams books are not available as in were not written by him. Eventually I found books by his students and read the quote. It actually said I learnt NOTHING from the sufis except 3 things. So it wasn't support but condemnation if you read more stuff and quotes.

Similarly there is a famous female Sufi saint who is used as an example. Again looking into it the first bit written about her was 300 years after her death by a Persian dude who wanted to start a school of his own.

Eventually though the sufis books have been passed down unchanged and referenced to centuries. All based on a false premise. Try telling that to a sufi

Just looking at wikki it doesn't give the specifics of the schools syllabuses

Its like the Taliban banning women's ed in Afghanistan. Its not really true in that Afghanistan has 3/4 factions who are vying for control. So the Taliban being sunni were banning communist syllabuses schools for all as it didn't suit their syllabuses schools

But the whole women and no education is better news

Similarly malala wikki page wont show you her mums oppression by her dad because it doesnt suit the narrative that he is all for girls.education.
