Don't do the smoothie thing

Straight up dates and water

Ibtry and buy different types if dates too, really like the fresh green vine ones
Dates and milk/yoghurt instead of water, try it this year, much needed nutrition and sunnah.

I do like fresh dates, but I have never had any as good as the ones in Madina I could live on them alone!

Depends on the conviction of your belief, you may or may not lose everything and it goes both ways.

I know there a muslims from other faiths or cultures who have lost everything because of their new faith and their convictions strong enough to not put up a false pretence.
That's leaving one faith for another, many of which claim that being open about such things is important.
When you just don't believe any more, then what's the point in risking everything and gaining nothing?
I'd rather be open and honest about it myself, but I'm not in that position.

I am being neither, hence why I said both both sides need to realise this and move on, the saying is not from the prophet (pbuh) it's actually a verse from the Qur'an.

The problem is pick and choose from lot of people a and when it suits them without any real understanding of the subject matter. The ones that leave at times antagonise the others too and vice versa..

Pick and choose what?

Nothing worse than an ex Muslim or ex smoker. (Should say ex religious person)

Blah friggin blah

See that hirsi woman ffs agenda much?
Ayaan Hirsi Ali? I can't think why.
It's not like she had her genitals mutilated and receives death threats every day or something! <laugh>

In the hadith reported by Annas the Prophet saw broke fast with dates. He saw used water if dates were not available to him. That's in Tirmidhi

But then your living a life of lies and pretence...do you see what I mean? I myself never was practicing or had the belief/conviction and it was out in the open but I choose to come back in to it after research and reading up about various religions in my mid 20's...

That's the one.

With her and likes of malala you really have to know the "unknown" background to see what its about.

Being Muslim brings you into contact with these people, not hirsi in my personal case, so you see behind the media hype

It's not exactly honest, but I understand why people do it, especially in societies that are less accepting of such things.
It can be very controversial in parts of America, for example. People lose jobs over it, as well as the other possible issues.

What unknown background would that be, then?

Tbf no pretence is a pretty big deal for me personally

O look at someone like RVP who went through the whole becoming Muslim to marry his Mrs, even giving Islamic names to the kids etc but they are clearly not "believers" so why pretend?

If I was going to marry a woman who didn't practise but then put that kind of condition on marriage I wouldn't marry her.

That's true but don't under estimate Pussy and what it can do to a man. The guy is a good looking very rich young man. He could have ****ed her and said bye bye. However it seems like he has taken some form of interest in her background and embraced it to whatever extent he has. If he's 'pretending' he's not kidding anyone mate. For what it's worth, I've seen him make a prayer before Kick Off. No one makes him do that, he does it due to his own conscious. Can't imagine he has to do that because of his wife lol...what a fackin pussy he would be if he did. He might not be perfect but it's his journey and I've seen him catch the Train a few times whilst being on it.

You wasn't born into a Muslim family?

Yeah she had issues in life, fgm has got nothing to do with Islam though and she likes to blame Islam for it though.
FGM's cultural, but some people try to use religion to justify it. I think it's a separate issue, personally.

What unknown background would that be, then?

Political affiliations of families and also background of the families.

Have you ever wondered why malala is a spokeswoman and peace prize winner for women's rights/education supported by her father (a communist exile) and yet her own mother wore an Afghani burkha, couldn't read and walked behind her husband?

Similarly is hirsi disliked because of her anti Islam stance or is it more to do with her antagonist views? Eg netanyahu should win a Nobel peace prize etc

My point is its not black and white. Malalas old man uses gia daughter to advance his own agenda and its seen as women's lib. He was hated in Pakistan by the government well before she got shot

pick and mix I mean the religion the bits they like and forget the bits they don't like or goes against their little agenda.

They don't fool no one but themselves mate. I don't do everything my faith asks of me, that's not for the want of trying though or due to the lack of respect and acknowledgement. Sometimes I can't help being carnal and instinctive though. Look at yourself, you lie out of your back teeth at times just to defend a Football Club Lolz

The problem with these topics is indeed culture and religion.

Islamically female circumcision is allowed but only if its needed for medical purposes. Some "muslims" use that to justify culture.

In Kashmir there was an Indian sect that used to go to the temple waving palm leaves and loudly reciting hymns. When Islam came to that part of the world they started going to the mosques waving pal leaves and reciting Quran verses. When told that this is innovation they use the call to prayer as an example of loud recitation etc.

Its wrong because really it's cultural and any new thing Boughy into the belief is innovation
