20 miles power walked this week - 8 of which yesterday evening.

1 gym session too.

How are people getting on?

Badly.

Had one small run on Tuesday followed by a load of beers watching United and **** all since.

Back on it next week. Probably.

Golf tomorrow. In the ****ing sun!!!! It's been along wait.

That's a hilly five mile walk so not to be sniffed at.

Got some hefty garden **** to do Sunday then.

Returned to the treadmill after overcoming a career threatening back problem. Caned it. Pretty whacked. Need wine.

Did half an hour on the treadmill tonight myself.
I piss it fitness wise. The knees, ankle and shins say otherwise though.

I'll never be a runner.

I'm tired!

I've spent most of this year dealing with the back issue and I'm probably not yet ready to get back into running but the inactivity was driving me mad.

Pushed it too hard for a first session today though. It's completely wiped me out!

I'd done 3000m row as a 'warm up' and then straight on the treadmill.

I reckon I've finally found a decent pace, I used to gallop along and knacker myself out, but even then after 20-25 minutes the niggles kick in. It's still that back of the knee **** that's causing me to stop early.

That and boredom. I could carry in running no problem, I just can't/won't push myself and cause further injury because I don't want to not being able to do other stuff.

Golf, specifically. I've paid my yearly membership, last thing I need is to not be able to play. That and the fact I'm obsessed with it!

I know what you mean about the boredom threshold. I used to do a 5km run followed by a 5km row four times a week. If I was up for it I'd add a 5km cross trainer session, although I think that's a **** exercise. I got bored with the rowing so changed to a 10km run. It was the ideal distance for me from a challenge and time perspective. I can only remember one occasion that I ran further, 12km, and whilst I was feeling fit and able to go much further I got bored so stopped. Randomly, during that run I watched Usain Bolt win the 200m at the Beijing Olympics.

had a session.....legs and arms...warm up, cool down was a 20 minute jog...15 warming, 5 cooling

legs x 4 exercises
arms x 4 exercises

some sit ups in between

lunch now...pasta with chicken curry(homemade)

spliff after

Spent 2 hours yesterday putting together my new training program and meal plan.

Straight on the squat rack this morning, hurt a bit, few clicks and creaks here and there, nice workout in the end. Will hurt a bit more tomorrow when I wake up I suspect.

3 days until my body adjusts to the sugar and salt decrease, so I'm gonna be a bit grumpy until around Thursday.

Doing alternate sessions every day now. Surf 2 hours, cycling 2 hours, Swim 1 hour.

Got to get this thread active again.

I went the gym once last week after more or less three weeks off. That's all I managed though. I've just had a weekend in Manchester involving beer and lots of it, treating my eldest post match to pizza and then a KFC en route back home. I can feel the weekend sitting on my waist as I sit here.

I need to be inspired. I'll go gym tomorrow but Wednesday is the EL final so a night will be made of that, probably meaning I'll do **** all Thursday.

It's finding the inspiration to hit the gym or go for a run when feeling a tad 'jaded'.

Not always easy if you have to work. And then there's family commitments, etc.

For me, I force myself to go even when I really don't want to. Getting to the gym is 90% of the battle for me. Once there, there's **** all else to do, so I just get on with it.

Walked 1800 miles today.

The toilets at each end of the plane were always ****ing busy.

Felt like I walked back to Luton at 37,000 feet!

True enough. Once I get there I commit to spending a while there, it's just the getting there!

I'll be glad when the football season is over. I'm currently working away and United have been on TV a lot, what with the prolonged Europa league run. It's a reason to go out so it's either going out early for food/football or not being arsed to do anything the following evening having had a late night.

Just one more match night to get past. No excuses then!

Gym's easy for me to get to, I like getting up early, I very rarely stay in bed past 7am.

I'll be up at 6am and off to the gym, shakes are done, meals are prepped.
