I wonder what Sharpe does to warm up? have a nap? read a magazine?
lol
20 miles power walked this week - 8 of which yesterday evening.
1 gym session too.
How are people getting on?
I'm tired!Did half an hour on the treadmill tonight myself.
I piss it fitness wise. The knees, ankle and shins say otherwise though.
I'll never be a runner.
I know what you mean about the boredom threshold. I used to do a 5km run followed by a 5km row four times a week. If I was up for it I'd add a 5km cross trainer session, although I think that's a **** exercise. I got bored with the rowing so changed to a 10km run. It was the ideal distance for me from a challenge and time perspective. I can only remember one occasion that I ran further, 12km, and whilst I was feeling fit and able to go much further I got bored so stopped. Randomly, during that run I watched Usain Bolt win the 200m at the Beijing Olympics.I'd done 3000m row as a 'warm up' and then straight on the treadmill.
I reckon I've finally found a decent pace, I used to gallop along and knacker myself out, but even then after 20-25 minutes the niggles kick in. It's still that back of the knee **** that's causing me to stop early.
That and boredom. I could carry in running no problem, I just can't/won't push myself and cause further injury because I don't want to not being able to do other stuff.
Golf, specifically. I've paid my yearly membership, last thing I need is to not be able to play. That and the fact I'm obsessed with it!
Did 20 minutes finger blasting this morning.
Got to get this thread active again.
I went the gym once last week after more or less three weeks off. That's all I managed though. I've just had a weekend in Manchester involving beer and lots of it, treating my eldest post match to pizza and then a KFC en route back home. I can feel the weekend sitting on my waist as I sit here.
I need to be inspired. I'll go gym tomorrow but Wednesday is the EL final so a night will be made of that, probably meaning I'll do **** all Thursday.
It's finding the inspiration to hit the gym or go for a run when feeling a tad 'jaded'.
Not always easy if you have to work. And then there's family commitments, etc.
For me, I force myself to go even when I really don't want to. Getting to the gym is 90% of the battle for me. Once there, there's **** all else to do, so I just get on with it.
