Looks as if tomorrow could be a big day for Argyle .....maybe a step forward.....or could it be the start of a decline....a second consecutive managerial catastrophe.

Makes me nervous and out of my depth.....in over 70yrs of following Argyle from a distance this is a step beyond anything that Argyle have done before.

Peter Shilton seemed a jump too far to start with.....he was a great keeper and I was surprised in the end.

But Rooney and Coleen Rooney are not quite west country types......so if it comes to be......we can only get on board and hope.

so more american investment it could be, we hope we get some investment to push us along and eventually take over i would assume from Hallet , as if the Rooney thing happens and goes wrong .. he will have to move on with the others people are saying

I will be supporting the manager who ever it is.. they come and go lets hope rooney if the case turns his carreer around. :emoticon-0165-muscl<ale>

seems he is on the Euro 24 team for the summer how ill he manage to get us ready for the season ? will ashley cole and co be coming with him??

Just a guess but:
  1. They're American and therefore possibly known to Simon Hallett
  2. One of them (Jason Levein) is an investor in Swansea City. He has a connection in English football although I don't know how that works if there was also an investment in Argyle.
  3. They recruited Rooney at DC United although they also let him go,
Wild speculation on my part, no more than that.

DONE DEAL

PAFC have anounced Wayne Rooney will be their new Head Coach....and Kevin Nancekivell...Simon Ireland and Daryll Flahavan will be staying on to be part of his team.

So I turn on the Telly to watch the Cup Final....and low and behold the first thing Gary Lineker says is congratulation to Wayne Rooney for being given the Argyle job.

First question....what the hell is Rooney doing at Wembley when he should be at Home Park.....bleddy shirking already.

Well we’ll be in the spotlight now. Let’s hope it’s for the right reasons. First test: does the Rooney name make it easier to entice players to Plymouth……?

Like Joe I will support the Manager no matter what reservations I have about this. Like players I give everyone a chance to be involved when the battle starts rather than condemn out of hand which is a trend a lot of Argyle faithful have. As for what it will bring I will keep my powder dry until we are into the season for real.

Well he's probably contracted to do the punditry thing so would have to honour it anyway. I personally can't see him spending loads of time in Plymouth anyway and there is not a chance in hell he will relocate. I wonder what Colleen would make of The Dolphin as a night out.

Euros dates are 14th June until 14th July.....so Wayne Rooney will be unavailable for part of pre-season training.

Argyle have not yet released the date when pre-season training starts.....but Rooney will possible miss the first two/three weeks of it.

By then of course Rooney will have announced his full coaching staff....and we are expecting that he will bring in coaches that have worked for him before and will know how he wants his team to play.

This time Rooney will be involved with Argyles' pre-season training and surely have a major say in bringing in his own style of players.

At Birmingham he had no control of either and to be frank inherited a mess of a club.

Rooney's record at Birmingham was.....played 15.....won 2.....drawn 3.....lost 9.

They were in 6th place when he arrived.....played 11.....won 5.....drawn 3.....lost 3.

When he was sacked they were.....played 26.....won 7.....drawn 7.....lost 12.

There has been no mention yet if their is anymore finance coming into the club.....but Simon Hallett might be working on that state side...especially now with a well known man in charge of coaching.

Rooney is known worldwide....so his announcement as head coach has put Argyle on the world map......like him or not he is a magnate.....and life can be like living in a fish bowl for him.....especially with Colleen on his case 24/7....he just needs to smile at another woman and Colleen hears in no time on the grape vine......lets hope that nothing iffy happens at Plymouth and he can concentrate on the football.....might be easier in the West Country than in Birmingham.

I see that Wayne Rooney has 30 million followers on Facebook......it'll never be little old sleepy Argyle again will it.

well we have to get behind him, so much negative flying around .. well yeh he has not cut it in management yet but lets hope this is lift off

sky bet 66-1 for argyle to win league.. worth a punt now .. i will wait to see who comes in with him.. but i will be having a bet ...

Well, it took me about 5 minutes for the horror to subside but although it wasn't the appointment I was expecting, I've been Argyle supporter through some thick and some very thin indeed and I remain that way. This can't be worse than some things that have occurred over the decades.

So Come On You Greens and you Wayne.
