I agree with this. Solak has not been tight with the purse strings, just in-experienced in the getting the right people to manage the club. He trusted his investment with people that let him down He's since actively changed things in an effort to protect his investment and get things going in the right direction. A good business person learns from their mistakes and grows. You don't become the second* richest person in your native country by being an idiot!

I wonder if his financial standing has taken a significant blow recently? More so than just the Trump effect? That may have changed his longer term project thinking?

I did predict thay SR would sell up if we went down. Still waiting for Boris to do a spell in the old chokey but i think i will be right this time.

I think the fact that this is being reported by the BBC who tend to check facts before posting makes it more credible for me. If it was spoofy , they would have ignored.

Yep, of course; everyone’s for sale - at the right price & ours has dipped significantly so this season & IF Solak is having 2nd thoughts / getting anxious about the challenge we face or maybe has some financial issues himself, that could bend his thinking.

Stability is so overrated. Player churn, yes, change the manager twice a season, yes, the only thing that we’ve been missing is an owner trying to jump ship and getting down to the football club car boot sale.
At least he knows we are worth feck all.

Yeah, it just doesn’t make sense. The only way it does is if he’s decided to do a mental and go all in on Goztepe, or he needs capital because something has gone wrong in Serbia.
Or the other obvious scenario where the offer was above market value and too good to turn down. He may not actively want out but everything has a price.

With active buyers in the market, I'd say the cause of the rumour is either Solak has named a price or someone has made a very early enquiry.
