Finally are we all SR out?

On this note… what fees do we think players will go for this summer?

Can see it being something like:
• Leo - £24mill
• Jander - £18mill (+add ons / sell on %)
• Charles - £20mill (+add ons / sell on %)
• THB - £20mill (+add ons / sell on %)
• Rambo - £20mill
• Sugawara - £12mill
• Fernandes (15% sell on) - around £10mill (unless 15% if of profits then significantly less)

Equating to roughly £120mill in total figures + £40 mill parachute still, we’ll be fine!

I think Jander might be higher , Scienza and THB about right. Others closer to half the amounts you've put.

Surely we’re not selling Charles if it’s anything less than £20mill?

We paid £15mill ourselves with add ons at the time & have option to extend. I’ve seen reports we asking for £30mill too

I’d actually be surprised if anyone offers us £20mill for THB tbh, but no way we’d sell him at a loss either as we paid £20mill ourselves

Think you’re high on a few there. Mainly Rambo, Sugawara, Leo and Charles. Think you can knock about £40m off them combined

Yeah fair, Suga probs what we paid (£6mill), Rambo we paid £18mill so probs go for £14mill at very least after loan fee last season, Leo we apparently have a £25mill buy out in contract & there’s no way Charles goes less than £15mill we paid for him
Now he’s a far better player

Problem is with some players we'll have to sell which reduces the fees we can command.

Jander is this summers big sell I think, otherwise I think Ramsdale is a given.

I'm not so concerned about selling as SR have generally done that well - and the last two windows have been better on the buying (not looking at Downs...) but we have a lot of open questions at the moment on the coaching staff and that needs to be cleared first if possible

We assume the club will stick with Tonda unless their hand is forced but they must (though probably not) have some contigency?

In straightforward financial terms, it looks very healthy, but we would be quite a few players short of a strong squad, so we’ll need to get several signings, soon, if we want to compete (ie finish above Middlesbrough)

Be lucky to get half that for sugawara. The rest are probably about right, although Ramsdale will likely be less.

Hopefully we dont sell them all anyway but wouldnt shock me if we did

Google Q, Are Sport Republic doing well?

No, Sport Republic is currently struggling, facing heavy criticism from supporters and intense financial losses. Their ownership of English football club Southampton has been marked by chaotic managerial changes, multiple relegations, and a recent "spygate" scandal that resulted in the club's expulsion from the Championship play-offs.

Southampton FC Struggles
  • Relegations: Since taking over in January 2022, Sport Republic has presided over two Premier League relegations.
  • Financial Losses: The club submitted accounts revealing a pre-tax loss of \(£53.9\) million for the 2024-25 season, during which the Saints suffered a historically poor Premier League campaign.
  • Play-off Expulsion: Despite a late-season push, Southampton's promotion hopes ended in disaster when they were expelled from the Championship play-offs following an independent commission's ruling on the "spygate" scandal.
  • Supporter Backlash: Fans have heavily criticized the ownership group's transfer strategy and recruitment. Many feel the board mismanaged funds, leading to fan-led protests demanding new leadership.

Multi-Club Model
  • Network: Sport Republic operates a multi-club model that includes Turkish club Göztepe and French team Valenciennes.
  • Fan Dissatisfaction: Supporters have expressed frustration with this model, arguing that it drains Southampton's resources and transfers in order to benefit their sister clubs, such as Göztepe.

Leadership Shakeups
  • The group has cycled through multiple permanent and interim managers during their tenure, including a recent shift to interim coach Tonda Eckert.
  • Recent departures have added to the instability, with Head of UK Scouting stepping down.

Saints finances. Owe £100m to creditors (mostly to parent company). At end of 2025, owed £99m in unpaid transfer fees. Final parachute payment is £35m. Source: Southampton FC podcast hosted by Kieran Maguire. His verdict “Saints have to be careful” …..
Probably owed still £50 ,million plus on the Dibling and Fernandes sales from last season both Everton and West Ham due to their financial PSR restraint, would have payment over probably 3-4 years. This would be half of what we owe in transfer fees.
This season Ramsdale will be sold close to £20 million, Sugawarra £5 million, BBD £3-£4 million Jander £20-£25 million, Bazunu £3-£4 million, and I think Scienza £20 million and THB £20 million will be off as well. We will also be getting a sell on clause from Fernandes included in the Money West Ham owe us. And who knows what will, happen with the likes of Charles and Azaz.
I think we’ll bring in £60-£80 million this season in sales which puts us in a pretty good financial position, but I think unlike last season we will need to use the loan market a bit more this summer.

If only Saints where bought by the Bournemouth owner, Bill Foley. Not only have they qualified for Europe, his tram Auckland FC won the A league championship over here, his Hockey team, Vegas Golden Knights are 4 wins away from their 2nd Stanley cup win. I have said it many times before but I am extremely envious of Bournemouth for having such a winner as an owner. Yes Dragan seems like a great guy, but Sports Republic has pulled the wool over his eyes.

The problem is we are missing out on the next generation of fans. I work & live in Bompey and I was speaking to a work colleague yesterday who is new to the company and the team. My office is a few hundred yards from the Vitality shed and he walks past it every now morning. His comment to me was along the lines of he has started to follow Bompey now and I was mad being a Saints fan for a '2nd division nothing side'.

A few years ago I never saw a Bompey shirt in the wild - even in Bournemouth. Now they are everywhere on the kids. Either that or AC Milan.
