Southend fan in peace. I can assure you that most Blues fans are seeing this as a really tough tie against good Premiership opposition. The chocolate orange connection will add to the media interest but I have to say that he has got the side playing to the limits of their abilities at the moment so we should give you a decent game. Looking forward to it, see ya at the Hall. I'll be wearing a Southend shirt so shouldn't be hard to miss! Going now before I get told to 'do one'.

You won't get told to do one, we're a friendly bunch on here. <ok>

Has the wait to post been worth it??

What did Brownie sing on the pitch v. Man Utd. How quickly we forget.

I do recall him bollocking the players on the pitch at Man Citeh and thinking at the time quality move Brownie...But now looking back. The beginning of the end.

Can't wait for this game, think we will take quite a few down.

Any idea how many tickets we will get?

"Don't wanna go home, don't wanna go home, this is the best trip, I've ever been on!"

Although his interpretation of it was somewhat distorted and confusing, as you'll hear in this video.

Here you go:

How dare he celebrate our highest-ever league finish when we'd been universally written off as relegation certs?

"My first City game was as a 4 year old watching the Tigers beat Chester 2-0 at Boothferry in '94. I don't remember much of the game - but neither does my Grandad who missed both goals while he took his Grandson to the toilet. I'll repay him one day"

Not trying to be an end of bell, but we never played or beat Chester 2-0 at home in 1994, in fact, I don't recall us beating them 2-0 at BP at anytime in the 90s.

There's always someone, somewhere, with a big nose who knows; and I'd hate you to be tripped up by them in the future.

See September. You'll be wanting my turnstile stub next?

Let's keep it to the football, I can't be arsed with the keyboard wars.

I went to every game that season (bar Swansea at The Vetch) and trust me, that game didn’t happen.

That web page is just a figment of your imagination/ false memory.

To be totally honest mate, I don’t believe you actually exist either.

Who did Hull City play on Sat 3rd of September 1994 at Boothferry Park if it wasn't Chester City and did the return match recorded as been played on Tuesday 28th of March 1995 at Chester not happen also?

You'd think with PB at Southend and Big Sam at WHU, it would be near enough for Sam to pick Phil's brain on a regular basis.

I got me dream draw, get in

If Southend away is a dream what is the nightmare then ? Lol. But it could have been much worse.

Southend United ‏@SUFCRootsHall 4m

Phil Brown: "I know Steve very well and they are a top side. Hopefully Roots Hall will be absolutely packed for the tie."

It should be Now that there is No Live TV coverage of the game. I was hoping for a sunday game date myself.

Perfect draw....and if i remember correctly we can stand !!!!

Yes it is but dont expect it to be anything like Peterboro standing. More like a smaller version of Portsmouth.

Great draw this.
Looks like the 2000 tickets will be snapped up easily. I hope it's not on the telly.

It is not on telly sadly for the armchair fans. Lol. Well only highlights.

You've got the laugh....Just been looking at one of their message boards.... Half the t**ts don't seem to know we're 10th in the premier league...Take the first XI down there Steve and tear them a new arsehole.

No chance of that with the Crystal Palace away game just 4 days later. Same team or as near as possible to the Middlesboro game. That should be more than enough for Southend Utd.

Good luck on your promotion push. That has to be what Phil Brown will focus on at the end of the day even if his side brings there best game to the table after they cross the white line. :emoticon-0105-wink:

Nice prices. No reason at all for the game not being a sell out. imo.
