That was your pancreas thoughIt was ****, but in roughly 35 years, I can think of about 126 games that where I felt significantly worse.

Middlesbrough have only one game in hand. If we win all our matches they can't catch us.
How much do we have to pay them? And what's a one pint pip? I've got some Baileys left but I don't know if there's any ice.For those that struggle... We have to pay them, which would wipe the potential one pint pip.
What do you mean? Going up? The Premier League is ****. The matchday experience is ****. A long term stay in the Premier League will soon become boring, speak to some Stoke supporters if you need clarification.
If you're suggesting I don't want us to go up, you're wrong. I'll endure it while it lasts. What's meant is that I prefer the football days out in the lower leagues rather than the Premier League where you have to listen to watered down supporters talking about the stars on show such as Dele Ali, Harry Kane etc & mention how much money the Premier League is worth within 30 seconds of the first mention of getting into the Premier League. The bastard over zealous & power happy stewards don't help either.
The Premier League & all it stands for is ****.
Anyone allowed to express a note of caution or is this the gung ho thread? Up to two weeks ago I thought we were more likely to do the play offs than automatic. I now think we have a very good chance of automatic but:
I) Our away performances are still not that good and we have to play 3 of our main 4 rivals away from home yet
ii) In the same way as injury to one or two key players seriously derailed us for a while in December, the same thing could happen again. If Mcgregor or Hernandez get injured, what then?
iii) Last time we went up we really bottled it at the end. Remember those awful performances v Bristol City, Barnsley? It could happen again.
I think we have a very good chance but 50 years of being a Hull City fan makes me put it at about 50/50.
For those that struggle... We have to pay them, which would wipe the potential one pint pip.
Your dad was right.I know that's the traditional view, but even in the dark days, as bad as we've been, I always approached each game with an air of optimism.
My dad always said I was deluded and it was better to assume it'd be a disaster, that way you'd never be disappointed.
I've never been able to look at life like that, must get it from me mam.
I think the trouble with the young fans of today is,, they by n large deem themselves to cool to get rowdy.Nicely put SB, the journey from Macclesfield & Cheltenham to Manchester & Chelsea was brilliant, every City fan EVER, wanted to make it - we got where we wanted but found it wasn't all it was cracked up to be, the Taylor Report, all seater stadiums with ****ish stewarding, the replacing of the typical fans with ''spectators'' saw to that. I'm glad I saw it, the Premier League, the three trips to Wembley, the playing in Europe ... I still want the best for Hull City but, the game belongs to the modern, younger fans, tbh .... they're welcome to it; they can leave us older ****ers to keep playing our 'broken records'.
I agree. Although I think it will be us and Burnley who go up in the automatics. We should go up...at least through the playoffs... given the strength of our squad. But we have to...
(a) Avoid injuries to key players...notably Hernandez, McGregor
(b) Loan or sign another effective striker to support/back up Abel
(c) Play far better on the road to supplement our excellent home record
(d) Have Bruce not repeat the tactical (retreat into defensive shell in last 20 minutes), and team selection mistakes that contributed massively to last seasons second half collapse and eventual relegation.
Personally I believe (d) is the one that is most likely to cost us. Otherwise promotion should be nailed on!!
In the first round of fixtures, against the current bottom 8 (bottom third) we dropped 13 points. Against the rest of the league, the other two thirds, we dropped 12 points.
Forget Burnley, Derby, Boro. It's Bolton, MK Dons, Bristol and Rotherham we need to watch out for.
I make it 10 points dropped against the current bottom 8 from those 8 games (ie 14 points gained):
Lost to Rotherham and Charlton.
Drew with Blackburn and Brizzle C.
Beat Hudds, Fulham (h), MK Dons and Bolton.
We dropped 15 points from the rest (gaining 30 from 15 games).
