It's not about just instantly dropping someone for him. He'd come in gradually, he won't be fit at all. Give him a month or so to get completely up to speed and he'd be in instead of Honeyman for me from the team that have started the past few games.

Not saying Honeyman has done anything wrong, in fact the opposite, he's surprised me completely as I wasn't even expecting him to be on the bench let alone start.

McGeady on one wing and Snograss the other when we're flat 442 - move Snodgrass inside and Grabban and McGeady on the wings when we change to 5 in midfield.
Maybe that's my problem. We have a system that works with players that work in it. If he came in, got fit, then replaced an in form Honeyman that (if I was Honeyman) would piss me off something rotten. Could upset others as well in the squad. If he was that good, why hasn't he been playing at an average West Ham side as well? 2 seasons ago he looked awesome but my guess is that something changed

He's a quality player and would absolutely be a top signing.

For all I've said 'swap for Kone' though on other thread, with his wages etc, McGeady, honeyman and Watmore to return, would it be a smart use of funds?

We need a striker and a CB before we contemplate anything else.

Snodgrass is better than George Honeyman and would have more of an impact overall this season than him IMO.

All about the squad depth at this level and ensuring we don't run out of steam though so for me it works.

Given the budget restrictions we're clearly working with I doubt it'll come off as he'll cost too much £6m-£8m as a guess and I bet his wages are upwards of £40k per week.

As Nads says above his postion isn't top of our priorities but would be a great signing if it happened.

Honeyman could be massive mate. Everyone starts somewhere and he looks more than ready, I'd not like to see him stunted for the sake of it.

Is Snodgrass better? Well Honeyman needs more games to say. Some of his touches, his composure, he's been superb. I wouldn't want him dropped at this stage.

I wouldn't drop Honeyman for Snodgrass as long as he keeps up his current form. Makes a mockery of bringing through youth players if you drop them when they're playing more than well enough to deserve their place.

I wouldn't either. But having Snodgrass on the bench would be a good back-up for the lad.

Doubt we'll get him, but not a bad signing.

Pretty **** on Rokerpark's Scoreboard this thread. He started his first but it's down the bottom of the page. Not a dig at the OP, he may have missed it, but is there a mod about who could merge it.

If it needed deleting it would have been done an hour and a half ago. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Grayson has openly admitted he’s interested in him but finances will dictate.

Bit of a cry for funds to get him?

Exactly
We have all been wanting Sunderland to bring on the youngsters.
Now honeyman is doing well
It would be silly to replace him.
By all means get snodgrass on our books the it's up to him to try and get in the team ???????????????????
??????!!!!?

Just goes to show how surprisingly strong our midfield is that there's no place for Snodgrass. Would be a very good signing but not to go straight into the first team.

I'd switch formations to accommodate him, personally.

I was defending you fella. You were first with the Snodgrass thread. Me and Giacc noticed. But it was the other thread which was active and there was a mod online at the time who didn't bother merging. It's been done now so your op is rightly back to being post 1. My point with you not posting often was you may have a lack of incentive to post more threads if you see your thread cast aside for one which was published afterwards. All sorted now though. And thank you to who ever merged it. Unless it was Gordon in which case it's about friggin time <laugh>
