To be fair to Snoddy it's bad enough watching it imagining playing for the club. I know everyone will say he is paid a fortune, which he is but, why stay here when clubs will pay more and your not in the middle of a sh1t storm.

Agreed, it must be hell on earth to get paid £40k a week to do what many people have as a hobby.

I do feel sorry for him only £40k a week that might explain why I saw him going into Aldi the other day wearing primark jogging bottoms.
Maybe we can have a whip round on Boxing day help the poor fella out.

Aldi is the Scottish equivalent to Fortnum and Mason.

He knows no better.

Hardly. He's not exactly hull through and through, if he wants to go let him.

ofcourse

but as fans what do we want? we ain't his agent or his friend
so we shouldn't give a **** what is the 'best' for him
on a fortune at us aint he, esp when he was out injured for over a year.. he should give us back the wages or to me.

wierd ain't it football, get full pay even though you can't do your job for over a year

He paid us back by helping us get promoted and then getting us a surprising amount of points. Snodgrass has been involved in more than half our goals this season, he's more than earned his wage. Probably more than anybody else.

still as a fan we are entitled to be annoyed

Maybe. I'll pass. Protests aside, I'm apathetic to results this season.

ofcourse, this season was always a blank but
there's always hope and i want to try and win each game, it's mad how good the prem is

i said before but look at teams in and around us and just the forwards they possess

negredo
benteke
defoe
llorente
slimani
payet

every single one of those is a complete class above anything we could dream of yet these are the teams we are competing against every single game of the season

And have the door opened wide for a lucrative highly paid career in coaching or punditry.

9/10 footballers still probably earn more than 99/100 people after they've retired. This short career bollocks is just bollocks. At this level they earn enough in their playing career to live 4 or 5 times without ever working again.

exactly
let's not pretend, "oh 10 year career is short" oh aye it is at 40k a week.. that only amounts to £20m.. such a short career. hey you can be injured for a full year and still make £2m a year.. eh snoddy? or was your wage only 25k? so we only paid you £1m while you were injured?

can get to ****ed.. oh it's so hard for snoddy being at this club being paid £2m a year.. **** him
he's a traitor **** giving up as soon as it get's hard while he's made literally millions of pounds being employed by this club since 2014

IT IS the fans that suffer due to the allams NOT the players who make millions either way and let's not forget it

I find it hard to disagree with this or indeed Patty. It doesn't matter 2 jots if he's been our best player this season or not, he's done ****ing brilliantly out of us and, after signing for us when he already knew he was injured, it might be a nice gesture to at least give us our money's worth over the length of his deal rather than jump ship as soon as the ball is in his court.

<knocks Brady off his soap box>
<laugh>

We buy players from other clubs, they buy players from us
Nothing to get excited about (it's the Circle of Cash if you like)
Can't stand players who sulk to get moved, but Snodgrass has been our best player this season. In fact he seems to have the type of personality that means he couldn't saunter round the pitch without trying even if he wanted. He's played well, we can extend his contract, he may get sold but that is up to the Chuckle Son.
...............Move along, nothing to see here

Presumably that small fortune he is earning is very likely to be cut in half when we're relegated at the end of the season. He's 29, he doesn't have many years left at this level, in about 5 years time his playing career is over and his earning power plummets. He'd be an idiot not to go where the money is, no one here would blame him for going.

I wouldn't blame him wanting to leave. Not from a money point of view, I agree with Hatty on that, but from a football point of view. They do have short careers and despite what some people believe, they do want to be a success and have memories from their playing days. No player wants to waste his peak years at an utterly dysfunctional club with no ambition to even stay up. He knows we're not going to sign anyone and he'll want to go and sign for another club where he'll have decent players around him to help him achieve something.

If we're keeping hold of him for now to get a bigger fee that's probably the best result we can hope for under the circumstances. We just have to hope his performances don't drop as a result of not wanting to be here.
