Well I watched the game, I was well aware of it. You also haven't really answered my question, namely, how does pointing out this defeat have any bearing on them signing snodgrass or anybody else?
Score wise you are right OLM. More recently, the game that Celtic can never live down, and to this day are constantly reminded of is the 1-3 defeat to Inverness Caley Thistle who were in the lower end of the first division at the time. It was a Scottish cup game in 99/00, what probably didn't help with people forgetting about it was the headline next day in the Sun: "Supercaleygoballisticcelticareattrocious" Celtic this season haven't been great football wise, but what they have done is grind out results, winning quite a few games by a single goal. They have a few really good players, but that's all.
Looking at reports he has actually only turned down the actually contract amount if the club did take the option to extend his contract the extra year then there may be time to agree a deal before the summer Then again it's ehab so all logic may not exist
Celtic have confirmed they are NOT interested in Snodgrass. Is there any point to this discussion taking place now?
Don't know if this has been covered on the previous effin' 10 pages worth...but what would we think about cashing in in Jan? He's going, there's no danger of that, and we're going down, so in my eyes banking £4m next week rather than nothing in July and saving his hefty wage in the meantime would be good business. It might also give Mason a chance to glimmer slightly. edit Well that was bad timing for my post...can we literally do that with no comeback from him whatsoever? If so I'm surprised he turned down our offer. He shouldve got a new 2 year deal from us on better money with no trigger.
Why else would he sign? He's now, to the outside world, our biggest player and his personal stock has never been higher.
The current understanding seems to be that we have the option to extend it for a year in our favour. I thought that was the basis of your post.
I think he was suggesting that we should off a new 2 year deal at a higher rate and ignore the extension. I assume this is what we've offered and he's turned it down.
Forgive my ignorance .. but with regards the year extension does this mean the player has no choice in the matter ?
