takeover or no takeover - it guarantees nothing. premier league football is the biggest draw for a player these days - he'd earn the same amount with us as he would with you no doubt. to be honest, 90% of teams in the championship think they have 'a good chance' of promotion EVERY summer, so what makes leeds so special that they will automatically be challenging? its the most open division in the world - leeds have as much chance of finishing top as they do bottom!

That's simply not true, anyone could see last season our squad wasn't anywhere near good enough for promotion and could see the squads that were. Right now we're not ready again but there's potential for a real push if we make a few good signings.

you've just said exactly the same as all the other clubs fans will say. we're not quite ready yet but with a few key signings blah blah blah... take ipswich for example - they only finished one place below leeds last year. a week ago their fans were all doom and gloom, then they sign a couple of players and now they are talking about top six, maybe even automatic promotion. fact is, they are miles away from that but they now have some optimism, however naive it to be. same applies to leeds though i think you'll do much better than them!

heard it all before and i'm sure snodgrass has too! if norwich made some signings we could challenge for europe but we could also get relegated. that's how football works and by making signings, which may or may not come to fruition anyway, won't change that. that's why its so damn difficult to predict the league postions, especially in the championship!

<applause> agree with that... if we didnt have optimism things would be hopeless...... :emoticon-0111-blush

Bloody hell! You would think Paul Lambert was the ONLY manager that can manage a football team <doh>

Then again, it's easy in this day an age to have an opinion broadcast just about anywhere even if it based on nothing more than a "feeling".

All I'm getting from all these articles is "only Norwich suffer from second season syndrome"

Not Swansea, not QPR, just Norwich

Same people making the same PRE-conceived mistakes about us over and over again, amateurs. And it will cost them.

All we need now is few more "grant holt is useless and fat and had one lucky season" comments and we're good to go for the fulham game.

lets get one thing ironed out here for the leeds fans who can't seem to fathom what is happening.

imagine for one moment that robert snodgrass still plays for livingston in scotland. now imagine that both norwich and leeds have shown an interest in the player and both make bids of the same price. which club do you reckon he'll sign for?

exactly <ok>

its got naff all to do with history, naff all to do with support, naff all to do with colour of kit, everything to do with premier league.

Re SSS I thought Swansea were the only team that are may well be weaker with the loss of key players, but 15M for allen, surely that's a joke, what are howson, pilkington et al going to be worth?????

Except it doesn't really. If he feels he needs to get PL football right now then fair enough, but if he's willing to be patient and thinks we honestly had a good chance of getting there this season then I have no doubt he would rather stay, the problem is, as he's said, he's heard it all before and is getting sick of it, and I don't blame him.

You're showing a bit of arrogance yourselves in your "we're PL and nothing else matters" attitude. Dom thinks you would be the wrong move for Snoddy, and I have to agree. Ideally of course I'd want him to stay, but if he were to go I'd rather he went somewhere like Villa or Everton.

simon, he's been patient for a while now hasn't he. he's seen others up sticks and leave and i imagine this will be the last season he will stay with leeds (if he does) anyway. i resent the fact you say i show arrogance, especially in light of some leeds fans attitude towards my club and the ludicrous comments made by dominic matteo the other day. the fact is, its only us who are showing an interest in him and we've shown that interest for a long time. if he comes here it gives us a better chance of survival anyway, so matteo contradicts himself, unless he thinks snodgrass isn't up to it of course.
