Smoking

So you don't know me but because i debate it i must chuck them on the ground! So when workers clear dual carriage ways and motorways through the night of litter is it cig ends they are picking up, no, it's fooking sacks fulls of rubbish people have discarded from their cars. I will always use a cig bin where available, if not available i will use the side of a litter bin. I don't smoke in my car so certainly do not discard it from a window. I think you need to get off the stereo typing chief, it's clearly causing you hang ups in your life.

Actually they're a huge problem.

"Cigarette butts (CBs) are the most common type of litter on earth, with an estimated amount of 4.5 trillion discarded annually [1,2]. Unsurprisingly, several studies have reported that CBs are the most common item retrieved by clean-up activities in public areas such as beaches and parks [3,4]. Beyond being unsightly, when disposed of in the environment CBs pose a major threat to living organisms and ecosystem health (review in [5]). The few studies available report that CBs are toxic to microbes and cladocerans [6], insects [7], and also fish [8]. A recent study reported that CBs affect avian behaviour in urban ecosystems"

That is because nearly all Chinese people smoke and there are lots of them.

I still remember the time i was driving down the Old Kent Road, someone in an open soft top cut a lorry up. The trucker eventually managed to get alongside and emptied the entire contents of his ashtray into the geezers car <laugh>

My mum's friend used to have one of those old Fiat 500s, with a sunroof. Sitting at the lights on Marleybone Road one day, a load of *** ash descended through the sun roof. As she looked up and shouted "oi!", the driver of the lorry beside her leant out of his cab and said "oops, sorry love - thought you was an ashtray".

This.

But it's ok because other people throw litter too.

Erm yeah, because they're outside. Which is the point I'm making.

But you hate standing outside, so maybe you need to make new friends, ones that don't smoke....but also check they hate sitting outside, because nothing worse than a non smoker sitting outside, when you don't want to.
