Keep thud & Davis under the radar! Why do we want them getting an England call up? They'll only be back up at best, risk injuries & come back knackered! If we stay up we'll want them resting up in the summer & coming back fresh! Thats the big club mentality!

Fair squad. Think Cole will still go though and Oxlade Chamberlain if he's fit.

You'd have to be mental to leave Sturridge out, surely?

Not really, when you have those three behind Rooney.

    Hart, Forster, Foster
Baines, Walker, Jones, Jagielka, Cahill, Gibbs, Shaw.
Walcott, Lallana, Gerrard, Huddlestone, Milner, Barkley, Wilshere, Lampard, Townsend
    Rooney, Sturridge, Welbeck, Lambert.

I'd go with AKCJ's starting line up

Surprised you havn't picked up on my inclusion of Cleverley.

He's a totally different player to Huddlestone. If Huddlestone doesn't make the squad then it won't be because Cleverley is keeping him out. It'll be because Carrick, Gerrard or even Barkley is. They're totally different players.

If you feel this way, then you need to watch Lambert more.

    Agreed, they are totally different.

Cleverley is an over rated pile of dogger and Tom isn't.

Don't get me wrong - I admire him hugely. But Carroll has shown he can unsettle defences at these tournaments, and (when fit) he's a little more athletic (and tall) than Lambert.

Technically Lambert is bloody superb on the ball with head and both feet - but he might just be the slowest international-class striker I've ever seen.

    Beat me to it.

Goalkeepers- Hart, Forster, Butland (tournament experience, won't use the third keeper)

    Defenders- right- Walker, Clyne
    Left- Gibbs, baines
    Centre- jagielka, Cahill, shawcross, Davies,

    Mid- DMC - Jones (versatile)

    Right- walcott, lallana

    Left- townsend, ox

Centre- wilshere, Barkley, hudd, gerrard, Morrison.

    Forwards- Rooney, sturridge, welbeck, sterling

Surprise inclusions - shawcross- been in the premier league for a few years now and is pretty solid everytime I've seen him, clyne- had to beat glen Johnson to the plane. Have a few workmates who say ravel morrison is the next big thing and was playing well. After the Liverpool game I wouldn't have had a second look at sterling, I thought he was s***e, however him playing in a front three for Liverpool is getting the best out of him.

I know you've got the worlds biggest vendetta against him.

But he's really not that bad.

Bit of a jack of all trades, master of none.

He's clearly a talented footballer, but he does all of the dirty work that is never picked up on by pundits or journos.

Gerrard is getting old now. Apart from Barkley he's the best box-to-box midfielder we've got. Bitter pill to swallow, but we need to face facts. We're ****.

    Based on a 4231 formation...

    GK:
    Hart
    Foster
    Forster

    RB:
    Johnson
    Walker

    CB:
    Jagielka
    Cahill
    Davies
    Jones

    LB:
    Baines
    Gibbs

    Central Midfield:
    Gerrard
    Huddlestone
    Carrick
    Wilshere

    Attacking Right:
    Walcott
    Milner

    'Number 10'
    Rooney
    Barkley

    Attacking Left
    Lallana
    Rodriguez

    Striker
    Welbeck
    Sturridge

    Hart
    Walker - Cahill - Jagielka - Gibbs
    Huddlestone - Gerrard
    Walcott - Rooney - Lallana
    Sturridge

    Players I left out:

    1. Lampard: We already have gerrard as an older central midfielder, and captain. Need fresher legs alongside him.
    2. Cole: Out of the Chelsea squad a lot. If he reclaims his spot for the majority of the season I'd put him in. Gibbs has been fantastic for Arsenal who're top of the league.
    3. Townsend: Not ready for a world cup when Walcott and Milner are in great form for the top two clubs. Also shown to be quite selfish, shoots a lot when a pass could give a better chance.
    4. Lambert: Welbeck and Sturridge are better to lead the line and Rooney can do that to if we have injuries. Better to use the spot elsewhere.
