It's almost as if some take delight in seeing Adam Pearson fail / struggle / suffer. I just don't get it; to me it smacks of small time, narrow minded, lacking class. He was fantastic for us.
It's sounding bleak for FC, and ironic that KR now may have the rosier future ahead.
I partly agree with you Edelman. It's a pity they can't merge and form 1 club that could do Hull proud. It's easy to understand though why a merger is likely never to happen; just like the 2 Bristol or Sheffield football clubs would never merge. Maybe though natural selection will sooner rather than later bring the same outcome?

It's nothing to do with pride .
Super League was set up to level up the chances of winning the competition but it hasn't achieved that .

Without Pearson we would never have had the 2 decades of success that we've had .
I can't understand the hand ful of haters on here

You always get people who love to be contrary, especially on social media.

    I'm sure that's what's happening here.

It's actually impossible to argue that Adam Pearson didn't do a wonderful job for us.

Why would they need to merge? If FC went under, KR would be in a better position than if they took on the loss makers, and it would be far less of an issue.

I actually think FC folding would be good for RL in the City, as it tends to be FC fans that generate the rift with City, which puts people off RL in general.

There is never an admission of the decades of underachievement is there?
Hull KR certainly seem to have the buzz around them now. Does anyone know which academy are producing the best young players these days, there was always a local rising star coming through, do they still produce RL versions of KLP, Fleming and Greaves anymore?

Almost £20k a game for rates costs alone is ridiculous - 'which includes a £250,000 rates bill to play at the MKM Stadium for just 13 games due to a valuation set whilst Hull City were in the Premier League with circa £80m turnover'.

You average about 7000 you have to give tickets away for a pound to get the crowds FC do.
Your last major trophy was in 1985 Hull’s 2017.

Given the rates bill for the stadium alone is over £600,000, and the other facilities have their own rateable value, that's not actually a bad deal.

The Valuation Office set the council tax banding. Sir Adam is making out as though it is down to Hull City.
He didn't mention, nor has anyone, that the rates are also unfair on Hull City. We were paying a levy set down when we were a Premier League club when we were in League 1 with no gate income.

I don't disagree, and that's only one of a number of tax charges against the stadium complex, but it puts the claim FC are being overcharged in to context.

The current valuation is show on the tax.service.gov.uk website as below at £1,600,000 rateable value.

    https://www.tax.service.gov.uk/business-rates-find/valuations/24284735000

The current multiplier is 51.2p per pound, so the current bill is £833,600 per annum for the hereditament, this is based on the 2017 rating list. The new rating rate is due to come in from 1st April 2023, it was due in 2022 but has been delayed by 1 year so this may well change from the current amount.

The amounts for the other parts of the Stadium complex are on the spreadsheet on the site I linked to earlier. :emoticon-0105-wink:

What was Hull FC's smallest ever attendance?
Was it about 756 vs Batley. Odd that 10k claimed they were there...
    Just saying like...

Nothing new whatsoever. City, Hull FC and KR are , and always have been, skint on a regular Mr Micawber basis. :emoticon-0100-smile
