Walks away with a few million. i feel for the ****. I just don't get the hype about him on here, but we all have different views I suppose.
I bet Stoke wish they had waited another week..... Would do a good job for them. I reckon he will have a PL job by the end of this season or before the start of next season for the very least. He gave us some great games and got us playing the best we have ever played in the Premier League. I am not bitter enough to want him to fail and I hope he gets a big job in the Premier League one day.
I think that was the most telling game of the three, he gave up and handed us our worst ever top flight defeat, not a shred of fight or dignity in that performance, it was an embarrassing way to end the season.
I’m pretty sure he’d admit he gave up, as would the players. Last thing any player in the world wants is an injury from a game that means nothing after already being relegated. Every single one of them - including Silva - was already looking for a new club.
There may be something true in this 1. Excellent technical and organisational manager 2. Poor motivator? Phil Brown would be the inverse. A truly great manager can do both
He knew Silva knew before those last three games that Watford wanted him. The deal with City was an open ended one, after six months if we go down he could walk but if we stop up City had the option to keep him. I think the results show what Silva and his back room team wanted to do.
That's the way I understood it too. It appears that others think differently, maybe they were privy to his contract.
At least it was only the last game of the season. Players looked like they had given up yesterday and there is 3 months to go. No excuse for a professional not putting a foot in when things are hard going.
Always said I thought he’d be found out. Too much too early. I got harranged on here constantly for saying he wasn’t tested and the hype was just hype. I didn’t ever say he wasn’t effective, and I’d have kept him, but he needed a season or so to prove he could be consistent. All this miracle worker stuff, and silva knows best and would do this and that, was just hope. We went down and it still wasn’t his fault at all for some (check out our away record). He brought some hope and got a few decent loans in, but we tailed off badly. I think he may struggle now and his next job will have to show him hit the ground running.
I can promise you avoiding injury is every single player’s thought when playing a meaningless last game of the season.
