Simply put, we need a manager who can turn the ship ‘round – and the common logic would be someone who has a track record in this division.

If the regime have an open mind, I think, given Acun’s drive and vision, we could attract an excellent manager.

Here’s hoping.

If the Allams could persuade Steve Bruce, regardless of what anyone thinks of him, he was a big name at the time, then I’m sure our present owner could get a decent manager in place.

It’s the right time for Shota to go.

He’s enjoyed some fantastic support from the terraces up to this point, even though I’ve never read or heard of anyone who seemed to truly believe he could do it, at any point of his time here. If he leaves now, it’ll save any unpleasantness. He can go with everyone’s blessing and well wishes.

agree, lovely guy but never the right man to take Hull City into the Premier League & keep them there (which I'm sure is Acun's goal)

Someone now needs to come in & lay down the law & get this dysfunctional squad firing on all cylinders. I agree the recruitment has been strange & the squad is not balanced but we have some quality players & now need a quality manager to sort the dressing room out & if need be put a boot up a few arses!!!!

Something behind the scenes isn’t right, players not putting a shift in.
This isn’t about quality. I’m talking about effort & hard work. Body language is all wrong.
pethaps we will never know the truth but I’m convinced something is wrong in the camp

there needs to be a big clear out of players in Jan & that includes the Div 1 dead wood & some/most of the summer signings who have not worked out
there is still plenty of time for an experienced manager to mould a top 6 team

we’ve already had a clear out….that went really well…we are in 20th.

we need the opposite. Get a United & stable squad / team

Which summer signings do you think haven’t worked out?

Looks like someone updated his wiki as 'former manager'...then it got changed back.

He said many times that he wanted to play 5 at the back, despite bringing in several attacking wingers, no wing backs and only having 4 recognised centre halves in the squad.

The recruitment absolutely does suggest some variation of a 4-5-1 was always intended but Shota never said that.

He did say it originally, when he was first asked by Burnsy soon after he joined. He said 4-3-3 was his preferred formation. There's every chance he didn't mean or understand what he was saying, mind you.

Reactions: Howden Tigress
Well IF he is gone, it must surely be this Sergen guy to take over...it all seems too quick to be a long exploration of local possibilities.

Did he? Did he really do much better then Grant? In the games leading up to his sacking, Grant had us playing really well and the tide had turned if I remember correctly.
Yeah that Blackburn game on the day of the takeover we were absolutely brilliant. Followed up by the performance at Bournemouth it seemed as if not only the club was freed from Allam but also Grant. His demeanour in interviews had entirely transformed

I believe stats suggest he did? I do agree Grant had turned it round and was unfortunate to get the push. Regardless, Shota had some success in a new league and yet doesn’t seem to have learnt.
