Parker isn’t for me not seen anything creative in his teams or in his comms of any dynamism , he doesn’t come across as a particularly motivational guy but to be fair it’s only based on TV interviews etc anyone know different ?

I think Parker would be a huge upgrade personally.
    i) His ability to communicate with the players must surely be better than Shota's
ii) Years of playing to a high standard in English football as a hard tackling midfield player who could deliver a pass - so at least would recognise we haven't got one of those!
iii) He couldn't keep Fulham in the Premier League but has got both Fulham and Bournemouth promoted hasn't he, so a lot of relevant experience - which Shota hasn't.

    This

In fact I think I would take any of the following rather than Shota at the moment:

Ma Parker, Peter Parker, Aunt May Parker, Parker from Thunderbirds, a Parker Pen or even a Parka coat

But that jumper. Maybe we could provide him with a club blazer?

Not an ounce of truth in any of that. Has your guy got a caravan on Walton Street second week in October ?

I agree with a lot of this, but when you look at Fulham and Bournemouth he inherited premier league squads, which hadn't been disrupted a great deal. They were both certainly big fish swimming in a small pond compared to the majority of clubs.

Yes, for me the cardigan is a drawback but I'd put up with that on balance.

Morison has been sacked by Cardiff. Same record as us, less, much less, goals conceded.

Didn’t he reportedly take a team talk when he was captain at West Ham and they were something like 3-0 down in an important match, and they turned it around? I seem to remember everyone praising the managers team talk and he said it wasn’t me, it was Parker… might have imagined it though

Good manager is Yalcin, but he has an incredibly tiny face.

Well here is what it looks like Brighton are doing. Given the Brighton managment teams nous probably well
He is from the Ukranian League no experience of the Premier or indeed the Championship.

    This from the Athletic

Ahead of his appointment, the 43-year-old has had meetings with Brighton owner Tony Bloom, chief executive Paul Barber and technical director David Weir.

De Zerbi is now back in Italy, with the timing of his announcement sensitive due to the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II tomorrow.

The primary reason De Zerbi’s appointment has taken time to finalise is that he is bringing with him all the backroom staff that he took from Saussolo to Shakhtar Donetsk to replace the coaches Potter took to Chelsea. Some of those staff members may require work permits before they can start at Brighton.
De Zerbi is currently without a club, after the Russian invasion of Ukraine earlier this year brought an end in July to his 14-month reign at Shakhtar.

The Italian continued a pattern of success during his 14 months in charge of Shakhtar — they beat title holders Dynamo Kyiv in the Ukrainian Super Cup last September and were top of the table when the 2021-22 season was abandoned post-invasion in April.

Before that, De Zerbi overachieved with Sassuolo in his homeland, guiding them to consecutive eighth-placed finishes in Serie A in 2020 and 2021, missing out on Europa Conference League qualification to Roma — who went on to win the competition — on goal difference in the latter.

The former AC Milan and Napoli midfielder has built a reputation for a possession-based, attacking style which, together with his record of improving teams, caught the eye of Brighton’s hierarchy.

Whoever the new manager is, they need complete autonomy over the footballing side of the business. If we ever managed to convince Dyche to come here, I doubt he’d appreciate Acun and Kesler telling him he must sign some unknown kid from Turkey or players who are mates with Acun.

Acun and Kesler have great connections and pull but we have to sign the right players.

That’s why I can’t see us getting a Parker or Dyche , if the chairman has gone to great personal lengths to sign some of these players himself as reported , I can’t see him taking kindly to Dyche wanting to drop them and bringing in a workmanlike midfielder from a Bolton or somewhere <laugh>

I think I'd prefer her as manager than a random Turk.
