I see that Shota requested the involvement of Sinik with the Turkey squad Total madness Go train with Turkish squad get injured don’t learn to play with your team mates
basically we've signed a bunch of pie lovers who hate running and want a big pay check
they'll be even worse in the harsh cold east yorkshire winter weather with that fiece north sea gale
I think it's very harsh to say Seri achieves nothing. He plays a deep role so he's not there to create goals, but as Sky showed today, he'd created more chances than anyone in our squad despite only playing 4 games.l before today. His ability to get us out of tight situations and up the pitch is excellent, and his progressive passing through the middle, often to Tufan, is very useful. Nothing went right today and it is a worry on a team level, but I don't think we need to start digging out our best players.
FYI, plenty of Turkish news started to mention Sergen Yalcin for Hull City, a few examples:
Today: https://ajansspor.com/haber/acun-ilicali-teknik-direktoru-turkiyede-buldu-613415
3 days ago: https://www.yeniakit.com.tr/haber/a...yapacak-yok-artik-dedirten-hamle-1690525.html (not really a trusted newspaper though)
He was also a candidate before Shota is chosen. You might ask, who is he?
As a player Sergen usually labeled as most technically gifted Turkish player ever lived, but he was famous with his night life, addicted to horse racing and betting and also he played for all major 4 clubs in Turkey (he was the first one who did that, second is Burak Yilmaz). You might also remember him when he scored a brace against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Acun met him, when he was working as Besiktas correspondent.
After football he appeared in TV shows as commentator, then he became a judge together with Acun in Turkey's Got Talent where he got close with him. Following that he had spells in several mid-range clubs in Turkey, then he is assigned to Besiktas (where he came from youth ranks). He unexpectedly got championship but fired next season after a series of bad results.
He’s our best player of course he’s going to get looked at give it up with the scape goat bollocksTufan was one of the designated scapegoats in pre-season. That stopped for a bit when we were winning but now we need someone to blame again he's a good target. We've got loads of midfielders now so if he's really that bad he'll be dropped and replaced by Docherty or Woods.
That is utter ****ing bollocksI think it's very harsh to say Seri achieves nothing. They had at least 40 applicants when McCann left.Should Acun act to arrest the slump, I can't imagine the list of names of those fancying the job will be very long.
I only watched the first half yesterday, I felt sorry for the crossbar and couldn’t watch it sustain any more damage.
Looking later at my phone, I was really surprised to see Seri wasn’t subbed off at half time, at times he simply stood by and watched as their midfielders ran past him - not beat him with skill, just run in a straight line past him.
I thought Tufan did alright in the first half, he was our main outlet and playing as a left-side leaning number 10 he was unlikely to do much tracking back. Sounds like he got worse though.
The Baxter/Fig goal, looked to me on the replay like Fig felt contact on his heel and dived assuming he would get a free kick. Utter dereliction of duty.
Hard to argue with that. That is utter ****ing bollocks
we were appalling yesterday
Nothing went right!!! Minimal effort from the midfield and Pelkas and we played a baby on the wing ffs he’s come in and looked lost. Swansea brought a young kid on for Joe Allen who’s on Loan and he looked like he’s played there for them for years! What does that tell you about our manager.
There’s no transition between defence and midfield no idea who to play it to no one making space and when it does go forward it gets passed straight back. Seri has to do his fair share of defensive work but doesn’t look like he wants to same with Tufan
Unless you think we got better as the first half went on
that game should have been 8-0 without question
So Shota has been "given time" whatever that means. Let's say he's been given the next 5 matches. That's;
Luton (H)
Wigan (H)
Huddersfield (A)
Birmingham (H)
Blackpool (A)
From those games I would be looking for a return of at least 8 points and some kind of pattern emerging in our play if he were to get any longer. That would give us 19 points from 15 games, which is a third of the season - long enough for Shota to have gotten his messages across.
Fair enough. Anyone decent names in that 40, still jobless? They had at least 40 applicants when McCann left.
I agree, unless the time is just so he can get the feelers out for his replacement . The only thing if he did let him go is any new manager would probably want his own players in January and Acun has spent a lot of time recruiting some of these , imagine somebody like Dyche coming in and not fancying Pelkas and Tufan , probably wouldn’t go down wellI can't see for a 2nd why he'll get 5 games. Luton will beat us and that will be that.
I don't understand either when a gaffer is in thus position that you don't just let them go now. I can't think of an example where as manager has turned it around and become a success
