Hey CBrad, what do you make about all the controversy with Pieterson, what's his beef for goodness sake? :emoticon-0112-wonde

He needs to sort himself out LTF but I have a feeling judging by the comments from Bresnan and Swann that he has burnt his bridges for good. He's like a big kid basically. The ECB is getting a bit of stick over the handling of the text situation, with many saying how can they drop him over an issue they haven't investigated (i.e. found out the content of the texts) Realistically though I think they are at the end of their tether with him.

His ongoing dispute over when he feels like playing for England is a disgrace. I understand they all want to earn the big bucks at the IPL but it should be a case of him fitting the IPL in around his England schedule, not the other way on! He is not short of money.

I like him as a cricketer but his attitude and needy personality does grind a bit. I think he has dropped a massive clanger this time. He likes to be at loggerheads with authorities for some reason, its dogged him throughout his career. In South Africa, on the county scene here and now England (again). He has provided ammo for people to say this is exactly why he should never have been allowed to play for England. Its not true, the rules are there and he has done nothing wrong by switching to England. I believe he genuinely cares about playing for England and enjoys it. But he is never contrite when he is clearly wrong and always pushes the line of acceptable use of the media.

The biggest shame of all is he has messed up our prepreration for the biggest series since the last Ashes in Austrailia. It was massively important.

To be fair KP needs to learn to laugh at himself, he must know with people like Bresnan, Swann and Broad that you are going to get jovial behavior. Also thinks he needs to control his ego.

Definitely. He just takes a huffer way too easily for me. Swanny has an ego, Broady does but like you say they also have some humility. Does anyone actually know the content of these texts yet? I had heard it referred to Strauss's ****e tactics but not much else?

I've heard they were along the lines of:

- If our ****e bowlers get any of you out for less than 50, I'll buy you all a round of drinks
- Andrew Strauss is such a ****e captain I don't listen to a word he says
- I wish now I'd stayed and played for SA rather than switching to England
