This might have been mentioned yesterday but am I right in thinking that if we want to get into Europe, we either want Liverpool to finish 5th, or 7th (with us finishing 6th)? That's assuming that they win the League Cup, and hoping that 2 teams already in Europe reach the FA Cup final.

If Liverpool finish 5th, they are in Europe and so an extra place is added to the league for European entry - hopefully us in 7th.

If Liverpool finish 7th, we finish 6th and two teams in Europe go to the FA cup final, we would then take the extra European place allocated.

Or we could just reach the FA cup final :D

This is why I wanted Man City to win so much :( It would be easier.

We're relying on the FA cup. We'd need to either win it, finish runner up to a team already in Europe, or for the final to be contested by two teams already in Europe. City are already out, either Man U or Liverpool will be out this weekend.

Waaaaaait. Then I think if we finish 7th we get into Europe if the two FA cup finalists are CL/Europa teams. Ah, I think the whole of what I just said is irrelevant <laugh> ... don't worry <whistle>

Yes, this. Where Liverpool finish doesn't really make a difference I don't think? It's been a long day.
