Err, basically the GC lot made masses of threads mocking Speed's death a few hours after we all discovered it, then Syd and Mick tried to calm them down and tell them to stop, and deleted a few of the threads, which made the GC lot a bit more angry and everyone's kicked off up there. It just got worse, everything's a bit out of control nowSyd's stepped down as super mod, Mick's pondering over what to do with GC, we're all just chilling here, the usual

Aye not bad like, mainly been playing Skyrim recently so probably another reason I've not been on here much.
Left one of my toon scarves at the shrine for Gary Speed at Elland Road today, still feeling empty that he's gone.

I think the most surreal thing about going to the memorial was the fact that it was rush hour and all you could hear was cars slowly & quietly pulling away at the lights even the charver cars with booming music turned it off whilst passing & it meant you could nigh on hear a pin drop.

Just to the left of the Strongbow shirt was probably the saddest tribute I've seen so far - some ex pat family (Geordies settled in Leeds) left an old toon away top from around 2003 that they had kept from their late 22 year old son as a memento to remember him by, but decided to give it away for the shrine in Gary's remembrance & said they know Gary will be taking care of their son now. Someone else had also wrote on the back of a Leeds top that Sir Bobby has now found his captain for his Heaven XI & I'm definitely not ashamed to say I was welling up.
Forgot to add that as I was there some lad with a Man United top came and laid it on the memorial & not one of the Leeds fans gave him a bad look, I was pleased to see at a time like this that it transcends footballing rivalries.
Ahh man, things like that are just brilliant. I agree I probably would've found it hard if I were there. Brilliant scenes. Great to see so many people have so much respect for the man. Some things are bigger than football and this is definitely one of them. It's not just sport, the world has lost a true gent. Feel for his family so much.

I know! How quickly things can change in a year. I didn't have a problem with him when he was appointed but was gutted and annoyed at the way Hughton was treated. But have to say he has surprised me with how well he has managed us so far. Long may he reign I say!
