Intense fighting is reported in the Libyan town of Ras Lanuf between opposition fighters and forces loyal to leader Colonel Gaddafi. Government warplanes bombed a refinery and a rebel checkpoint near the northern oil town, east of Tripoli. There have been fierce battles in the town, forcing many rebels to retreat. The Arab League is due to hold an emergency meeting in Cairo on Saturday to discuss supporting the imposition of a no-fly zone over Libya. The Libyan leader has sent his own representatives to the meeting, but the Arab League says they will not be allowed to attend.
*Just needs to post to take the post count off 666. Nothing is evil about Shearer!!* Nice day today eh lads?
I knew a circus clown that married a Welsh nun.....their friends said it was virgin on the ridiculous... Just had a couple in the old Shearers e bar, very nice too. In fact I think I'll go back for a few more as I'm off today. Anyone care to join me?..
Afternoon all. Just been to the old Shearer's myself. Not long left til that will be closed for good! How's everyone today? I've been kept far too busy with uni work recently. Japan isn't looking too hot now with all the radiation leaks & the Middle East looks like it could be going to the dogs as well!
I have been really busy at work Our contract with the council finishes end of April Not sure what's happening when the new company takes over, possible redundancies. The other half is already looking for another job as she will be out of work in May
Sorry I must have missed your reply! No I haven't, a quick google search has yielded nothing but the meltin pot article on this very forum! What are they like?
That's crap, hope you're ok in your job and that your missus gets sorted out with something! Just noticed that the beeb have removed all links to 606 from their website. You have to do a google search or know the address to get on the forums. I guess that's confirmation that it wont be saved, still feeling quite nostalgic to be honest - although just had a check on the old Newcastle board and it seems to have gone to the dogs long ago. There's even a Nile Ranger wannabe posting in his "gangsta" talk.
Just thought with you all being at Leeds Uni and interested in the same kind of music you might have known them. I haven't heard them myself but I've heard the front man has got loads of good write ups, seems he takes time to help other youngsters to improve their playing.
Hey I'd offer you one if I could , so my sentiments are all I can offer! I've started looking & applying for after uni in May, but already been knocked back myself a fair few times - noone seems to want someone with a piece of paper these days, all about experience unfortunately.
Wey I'm Leeds Met, so maybe that's why. I'll have a look out for them though, the one or two friends I have in my year might have heard of them.
