I certainly wouldn't write a player off after only a few games, particularly when he has to get used to playing at a higher level, but he's looked out of his depth so far.

A 3-5-2 formation would probably have stopped us conceding the 2nd goal yesterday. Considering we have plenty of experience in the PL with our centre halves, the second goal yesterday was a very poor one to concede.

Alex Bruce as a third CD and he'll do what he does excellently- clear the danger.

Best hope that Charon doesn't see this or he will probably go into a coma.<eek>

I dont know what it is about Clucas but ive grown a strong dislike for him already. He's got no pace, doesn't take on his man, rarely crosses (and when he does its ****). Basically all he does is play a simple sideways/backwards pass and as seen at Wolves he even finds that difficult. +1 for black boots though

I'm always reluctant to write players off, I stuck by Hernandez all last year + many other signings who failed to impress. But with other signings they at least give you something to cling on to. I've seen nothing from Clucas so far. Would love to be proved wrong but my guess is he'll be gone by this time next year

Just like everyone else then. How many players are we gonna write off as people who just love passing it backwards before we accept its **** tactics.

Nowadays you've got to be able to play a bit to get away with wearing black boots.

He scored on his debut. He's had a fairly fast rise up the leagues. He needs patience, he's still finding his feet with new team mates and a higher standard of football. I think he'll prove to be a decent acquisition, as he has the desire to be successful. Many of our current players don't seem to have that appetite.

He was late ish into the proffesional game too, but he just looks so out of depth, he doesnt play like a player who is showing any particular promise

Although the pricetag seems too high, perhaps when he's bedded down more, gained confidence.. TWT

He is an inexperienced player that has risen through the ranks quickly, and has thrived at every level in the last 2-3 years. I think it is far too early to chalk him down as out of his depth. He is clearly a bit overawed at the moment, but he looks perfectly competent and has the skills necessary to succeed.

I like him, is what I'm saying.

I wonder how long a deal we'll give Maloney. If we wouldn't give a 29 year old Quinn a 3 year deal will we give a 32 year old Maloney one? 2 year + 1 option in our favour could work for both parties

Didn't he have a 3 year deal in the mls? I carnt imagine a 32 year old giving that up for anything less

An eight year deal with the sole express ruling that he plays every game he can, right up until he's 40, at which point he triggers a five year extension.
