Set Pieces

Its not an argument but if you, me or anyone else posts bollocks you get pulled up for it.
If you say you think Hayden is better than Jake. Thats fine.
Our best run of form was in and around October, Hayden wasnt a starter.
He only played in 2 of the 4 league games in January. Subbed off in one of them.
You often come out with that comment about 'being pulled up for it' yet if anybody makes a comment about something you wrote that is open to question (Powells) dead ball delivery on this thread, you have a hissy fit and start calling people names. Call me Fast Show Dave as much as you want just admit your opinion is the worth the same as anybody elses

It's my opinion (note the use of the word 'opinion' King Chazz) that we've played our best football with Hayden and Maguire involved. It's your 'opinion' that we haven't. Nobody is right

The reason I put Powell As my MoM was largely his set piece delivery , he whipped in a lot of good balls
He's one of the few recently that you feel when he steps up to take a dead ball something might happen. I'm glad Taylor wasn't involved because he would have probably taken seniority and we wouldn't have got a chance to see what Nick can do.

Agree completely Powell looks very accomplished over a dead ball but I'm not convinced he's done enough around the ground to earn a start in the league. Yet.

Speaking of Taylor, he has to go down as one of the most pointless signings I've ever seen, he doesn't get close to the team usually, and when he has he's been dreadful

My issue with Powell is that Bruce indicated that we had brought him in as a striker. Low and behold on the evidence of a few games it appears we have either signed another midfielder, or a striker who likes to play in front of his back four. He's a decent player, reasonably skilful and always finds space and makes himself available. Unfortunately he appears to be another midfielder, which was not a position we required another player for.

Yes, which leaves us short and relying on Hernandez or failing that the likes of Clucas who then gets castigated for missing chances when he is getting into the positions to take them from out wide or midfield. I hope Clucas has got some help this week off the management he seems like a positive lad but you can see his head dropping

I haven't personally been as impressed with Davies as when he first signed. I don't know if it's just me noticing it more than before but his ball work is so bad. He has to clear it into the stand where our other defenders could turn and find a pass. Maybe I'm being harsh I dunno.

He's still a decent player, but it must be difficult working a strong partnership with Dawson and then being called upon to partner Harry and Alex in a different shape; perhaps he defaults to safety out of caution, especially when he has a midfield that changes on a whim.
