I'm a wimp with anything apart from lager can't hack spirits or anything like that.

Smash 12 pints Stella no problem be pissed like but not falling all over

I'm the opposite I can put away daft amounts of whisky but only manage five or six pints.

Having a few tonight to celebrate a positive end to one of the most drawn out and frustrating sagas I can remember. Fair play to Donald and Methven for getting them interested in the first place and then not Ashleying it up.

I’m still very cautious simply due to the fact I do not trust SD and CM to run this club properly. They’ve done fantastic to get this initial investment mind, and I believe it will be a full blown takeover once our fortunes turn and we get promotion(s).

Nothing in the last 18 month of them running the club fills me with confidence they can do things correctly, but I imagine they’ll have to make this a success otherwise they’re ****ed with the investors. They can’t afford to **** this up - literally.

Superb news to just get them on board though, and all involved should be commended
I would say that the only thing they've struggled with is the footballing side of things. As a business overall they've done a very good job.

Whilst parachute payments are a bonus the club had to be restructured to allow it to remain solvent once they stop. They've done that well and now brought in wealthy investors. The footballing aspect will come with time. There's still a lot of players/pundits etc that consider us a basket case of a club.

Well just returned from Wetherspoons
Tried a few of them new craft beers / lagers
Nice lovely Indians in our favourite restaurant
A few malts then off to bed tomorrow I pick up my new bmw
Happy days
It's always nice when you meet nice people out.

What type of restaurant was it :emoticon-0105-wink:

When my children grew up I thought I would to dispense with large volvo and bmw estates (for some reason called touring).. however my son and his two young children have now moved in with us...so I am still buying used 5 series touring....

Some flash 2 door speedster with room for just golf clubs etc... is now once more a distant dream

I'm just amazed that any Sunderland fan can try and find a negative about this. Do I wish it was a full takeover? Yes. Would I be happier if they at least bought about 20%? Yes.

This isn't the ideal result, but what it does mean is that we have another 3 (possibly 4) billionaires with a vested interest in how SAFC do. It means we can improve the areas which should give us long term success. It means these people are hardly likely to go elsewhere. It means they are very, very likely to end up with ownership down the line, all we need to do is the relatively simple task of getting out of league one. It means that the current owners don't need to spend on infrastructure, when January comes they can invest in the playing side (we don't need much but some would be good) without feeling like they should be spending on other areas first. It means we've taken the first step to coming back. No way on earth is this their sole involvement in SAFC, it wouldn't be worth their while.

It's sad to see that some are determined to still seek negatives, to still belittle it, to play it down and pretend it means nowt. I think half of them probably wish FPP had walked away completely because it would give them something else in their life to moan about.

Well **** them. I'm happy, I'm looking optimistically to the future for our club again and you know what, **** message boards for tonight, I'm going to go and get pissed because I'm working from home tomorrow. Hope all the decent SAFC fans who are excited about the possibilities that have opened up today have a good drink and a cracking night, cheers all <cheers>:emoticon-0167-beer:
Spot on mate. A couple of SAFC fans I have spoken to tonight are buzzing. Social media aint the real world.

This well said

Late to the party as just in from work, seen some headlines that there's an 8 figure investment and after that just loads of negative/positive comments.

In a nutshell can anyone give me a quick accurate synopsis please?

Negative/positive comments not on here mind, just that there twitter!

Like I say, I’m still very cautious about the 2 of them. Hopefully now with money to actually do something with, we may see them perform better in the footballing side of things as nothing in that respect has improved. On the field the club has regressed at all levels.

However, fair play for putting themselves in the position they have to now have an opportunity to press on
