Up until that moment people had accepted that the club were using Roker Report as a mouthpiece.

When they confirmed my claim that the deal was done I was naturally delighted.

For a time it showed I'd been right all along, then the announcement was delayed imo and everyone began to doubt.

I've never changed my stance for a second.

I think up until that point it was all set to be announced.

Hopefully they can iron out any issues and complete the deal.

F'kin hell, it's like the East Stand lavvies at HT on here, @Smug in Boots, you have certainly upped the membership mate, hopefully a few will stay when the take over happens.. Good board this to all the new lads and lasses, a lot of the old BBC 606 are here but it just isn't as vibrant as it used to be but that's hardly surprising.. All the best to the lot of ya and enjoy the hospitality..<ok>
Thank you for the warm welcome and I hope all of your newbies add to the forum , I am sure for the most part we will .

You don't have to be so defensive I and a lot more stand by you
Even on rtg they are saying it is close
And that is down to you
but they will not say it

They'd rather quit the board than admit I was right about a single thing mate. I've apologised more than anyone when I've been wrong.

There's a massive difference between me and the forum cowards.

I actually go to the matches, home & away, so I can't hide. My photo has been on both boards as well as my phone number and my usual place in the pub I always use for home games.

I'd repeat anything to anyone's face that I've ever posted and given these cowards an open invitation to do the same.

In over a decade only one person has ever showed up to confront me and he still posts on here.

I cannot attend matches anymore due to a medical condition but still follow the club anyway I can

Really sorry to bring this up but ...

... Wow!!!

The 'alternative takeover thread' has broken out into open warfare.

It's like an ice hockey match ...

... the gloves are off and they're laying into each other, blood all over the ice.

Pancho is on the ropes, Jardine has turned on the Mods, Steve3000 is crying that he was banned just for his honest opinions, people are cowering behind their laptops!!!

Really sorry to distract people but ffs, it's funny <laugh>

Takeover fever marra.

What is needed is a end to the takeover talks, it does not really matter if it is leave or remain... I have gone past caring what the final deal is.

We all just have to stop fighting each other and support our team/country remember what unites us not divides us.

I'm naive and believe everyone on a Sunderland chat forum should want the best for the club.

I have faith in this board, and the posters herein, that this is the case.

The problem is that information was shared in good faith, people take it to the extreme and then bicker when it didn't happen. There are so many people who expect instant results. Even Riv will admit grumpy and too a much lesser extent I was saying that these things nearly always have hitches, rocky patches and take time to get over the line. It doesn't mean it is 50/50 or will fall through but even at 99.99999999% through they can collapse. This is not buying a corner shop (mind you at times we have seemed like a corner shop). There was more than Riv mentioned the deal was done but the smallest thing can hold a deal up. Just a shame people can't have a bit crack and accept things are done in good faith. If we were having the discussion in the pub or on the terraces less people would behave like they do behind a keyboard

Traumatised mate, traumatised.

Sincere apologies mate. I can totally understand why you'd be a fan of a hard working cultured midfielder who could read the game, win a tackle and ping a pass. Who was also desperate to join the club... Over....umm....I'm struggling to think of anything old chip head offered...? Good engine I suppose. That goal at Palace....aaaand, I'm out.
