This info came from my good friend, ex-employer and in 2 years my future employer.

He's multi-millionaire Fabrizio Tonna and uses the same outside professional group, in America, used by people involved in the Dell organisation.

He repeated what had been openly discussed so I'm not breaking a confidence. This is the gist of the conversation ....

... These people are looking to regenerate the stadium and exterior including the immediate area, Sheepfolds was actually mentioned which I found amusing tbh. The metro station was also mentioned as was the Audi garage and the Hilton. The overall plan is to encourage investment from local/national/international business, local council, national government, local sports groups, etc to create a long term plan and legacy.

This is my own guesswork now ...

.... they want to attract money and other involvement so that people are engaged and not just waiting for handouts. They want to buy the hotel now while we're in L1 as progress up the leagues would give Short the upper hand in selling.

There's obviously loads I don't know but that's a bloody good start imo.
Aye it will be interesting to say the least and it may well be a chain reaction from the club that spreads further afield as others want to join in the development. If I think back to the 2 seasons we got to 7th under Reid as the SOL was bouncing even with just that brief spell of flying high, even getting to 2nd place at one point (though we did top Div 1 early 80's IIRC as I was on a Greece Island as a kid and unbelievably was able to buy the Footy Echo there and I kept it for years). I reckon that bouncing feeling also carried outside of the stadium back into people's homes and work etc which can only be a good thing.

Many years ago a defeat used to piss me off for some time after the game whereas now it's not so much as there's other things in life that are more important that football. Though I'm more thick skinned now, I'm sure there will be 1,000's now who feel like what I did years ago, if not worse. For them to get some prolonged 'feel good' factor again, or even a first taste of it, would be class I reckon :emoticon-0103-cool:

Obviously many want this takeover to be announced as soon as possible regardless of owt else that may happen. It's understandable that the longer it goes on, especially after so many thought it would happen that Friday, the more doubt creeps in given we are Sunderland and used to late blows! :emoticon-0107-sweat

Is the cloughy wobble on here ?

Give it another couple of days and when Roger realises how much RTG traffic has dropped he MUST ask himself why and what he must do to rectify the problem.

Blood needs to be spilt, in much the same way as FPP are allegedly going to do.

Amateurism is no longer acceptable in anything SAFC related!

I joined RTG a week or two back just to keep up with the proposed takeover. Shouldnt have bothered really. Theres so much that goes on you just cant keep up with things.

I only look at the takeover occasionally, as far as I'm concerned its pretty much done and dusted. Just a matter of time for confirmation.

I just came over for a gander and to say hello to Hank and reiver ;)
What's Hanks username on here ?
