I saw this snippet of info in that link and it's a canny job for 3 years. Does anyone know how much Wolves had invested in them to get them up from the Championship?

Fosun value Wolves at £350million, a huge increase on the £45m they paid to take sole control when they were in the Championship three years ago.

I'm asking as I'm wondering just how much 'profit' they've made if they sold them for the quoted £350m. Even so, potentially in our case, is the money to be made from the increased value of the club worth the effort and ****e that comes with it for multi billionaires? As I've said elsewhere that after buying the club and investing then between say 4 'new' owners they'd make less than £50m each for a few seasons work. There's plenty of other revenues they could explore to make that kind of money and probably in less time and without the close scrutiny they will get with it being a football club.

What do you reckon @Smug in Boots? Do you reckon they're in it more for a legacy and 'feel good' factor helping not just a club but potentially those who also support it and the area they live in? I know that Michael Dell himself along with his wife have a foundaition that has given over £1b to causes. We're not a cause in the same way as they've supported kids worldwide but I've a feeling it's more than just a money making exercise for these fellas.

This info came from my good friend, ex-employer and in 2 years my future employer.

He's multi-millionaire Fabrizio Tonna and uses the same outside professional group, in America, used by people involved in the Dell organisation.

He repeated what had been openly discussed so I'm not breaking a confidence. This is the gist of the conversation ....

... These people are looking to regenerate the stadium and exterior including the immediate area, Sheepfolds was actually mentioned which I found amusing tbh. The metro station was also mentioned as was the Audi garage and the Hilton. The overall plan is to encourage investment from local/national/international business, local council, national government, local sports groups, etc to create a long term plan and legacy.

This is my own guesswork now ...

.... they want to attract money and other involvement so that people are engaged and not just waiting for handouts. They want to buy the hotel now while we're in L1 as progress up the leagues would give Short the upper hand in selling.

There's obviously loads I don't know but that's a bloody good start imo.

I think you would have to consider a few teams I to what they have spent to stay in the premier league. Last season you could have looked at what Fulham spent, just on players alone not including wages, and they went down.

The thing I think we need the most in that right investment, bringing in the right people to get us up and keep us there. Then develop the squad into a European team. The teams that have done poorly going into Europe, which I imagine wolves will do, is they don't have the depth to cover when they have 3 games from Saturday to Saturday with traveling to the arse end of Europe in between
Hopefully, if we ever get taken over and somehow get up to 7th we'll be well ran and have some depth with all players wanting to be involved as much as they can.

Though if you've got squad depth then given players couldn't alway play, would it be wise to do away with basic though still obscene wages like we had before and bring in a more performance related pay? I bleated on a bit more about this in an earlier post here as I feel this will mean you end up with players more hungry for success rather than plodders just taking the easy money.

Seriously, I'm like an addict getting my fix again now I've found this place :emoticon-0140-rofl: Cheers Reiver mate.

We are tiny in comparison to RTG, but that also means that thousands of posts and replies don't get lost by the numbers..
As people have said though, that's a good thing as it hopefully cuts out all the idiots and attention seekers who aren't there for the conversation.

The amount flocking to this thread when there’s no new info at all and hasn’t been in weeks:emoticon-0102-bigsm

I only look at the takeover occasionally, as far as I'm concerned its pretty much done and dusted. Just a matter of time for confirmation.

I just came over for a gander and to say hello to Hank and reiver ;)

I did that, and thought I was being clever for me and I am still getting them
See my edit (edited twice now) as that was for conversations (PMs). I leave that one on as I may not be browsing any forums but do I get emails so won't miss a PM :emoticon-0105-wink:
