Serious takeover talk

It’s all a bit Emperors new clothes, if you get my drift.

 

If the process started around about the beginning of August when it was first mooted, I wouldn't say it was way off, just about a month overdue. 8 weeks is a solid timeframe for a deal, albeit I have heard of them taking a lot less or a lot more.

With a complex asset like a football club and the debt/ownership conundrum that means it's not going to be simple to get a price that both sides agree on, and disagreement about asset value, I wouldn't say we're completely out of line. More worried about the comments from Charlie last week at the talk-in where he talked about loans and small scale investment though, because that should have been wrapped up by now given the legal and financial teams involved.

 

Sensible post. I would imagine that there has been some movement on the original heads of terms which may contribute to the different noises we keep hearing. I have one at the moment where the heads are changing daily and nowhere near due diligence yet. I suspect the Americans are hard negotiators and SD may not have as much experience at this level.

 

Maybe Charlie is playing it down? The last thing you want in the league one transfer market is to make a song and dance about having cash.

 

Yeah agreed. If Deloitte are working for him they'll be giving full tax reports and projections way into the future too. Quite why Donald didn't do that when he took over is an annoying mystery to me. My mrs works on deals that are 10x bigger than this and in terms of fees, are a drop in the ocean compared to ****ing up to the tune of millions as they have admitted they did a few times.

 

Well if that's the case, can they not just tell us on here what's happening. We won't pass on what we know....honest!

I actually feel a bit sorry for Methven. If either of them are obstructing or have ****ed up a deal it'll be Donald, but whilst he has seemingly taken a bit of a huff and decided not to speak to us any more, poor old Methven is having to face the music at pre arranged talk ins! He must he dreading doing it knowing he'll be asked but probably not able to say much at all

 

Others have said he's buggered off to watch the rugby! Really hope that's the reason for his non attendance rather than anything to do with his parents!

Agreed. I know he went off to the football world cup when England got to the semis so we know he likes his sport trips and I'm sure he's got plenty of mates who would be into rugby so it sounds perfectly plausible
