The moods a lot brighter around this today mind, are we all believing the Echo, forever a beacon of facts and reality?

I mean, I am, but there’s still nowt done and dusted.

When I read that article, it feels firmly like a PR from the club. Not in a spin way, just here's the correct information regarding the talks, chill your boots. Much more like a statement than a speculative article imo. I even think the line "Talks have subsequently progressed well and should be concluded in the coming week" could have come straight from Donald tbh.

I like the sound of what the potential new investors did with the Miami Marlins, they pumped a load of money into the academy and focused on bringing in young talent with the view to making it a sustainable business. They also spent a lot on improving the stadium and the matchday experience which wouldn't hurt, even though their crowd is only about 10k over there they still put the effort in.

Yeah, I kinda got that as well.

Felt more like a statement of fact, which is what we all desperately want.

The Echo have never had a great relationship with the club mind, utterly bizarre in a one club city with such a passion for the club, warts and all.

Mind, if they get the interest over there, even that 7% would be worth outrageous amounts.

The total sale was $1.2 billion and Michael Jordan is involved, that’s a foundation for something.

If they want to come in and massively improve funding to the academy, that would be wonderful.

We have these stunning facilities that are never being used to their potential, especially since the shambolic removal of Stockdale.

Its like a Michelin star restaurant being managed by a gaffer from Burger King at the minute, but easily set back on track.

The dream is a team with a few starts and a few local lads competing. Isn’t that what everyone wants?

Might be the case that our academy facilities played a part in them wanting to invest in us in the first place. Infrastructure already in place and we have produced some good players including two current England internationals. It's not like you're having to start it all from scratch, just having to get the right staff in place. Easier said than done, but hopefully having a few more quid to spend should hopefully allow us to get a better scouting and coaching set up.

Don's been canny vocal on the benefits of the academy, Parkinson mentioned it in his first interview, the Americans have already invested in that area, admittedly different sport, so yeah, I'm canny hopeful there will be a focus on getting talent into and through to the first team.

Please show the exact post where he stated that as a FACT, not his OPINION, which is different, although I can't remember him posting that under either category.

He specifically said it was Donald holding the deal up.

Smug never said that
He suggested it may be the reason how would smug know
Donald doesn’t know him so he couldn’t tel him

Hopefully the club and the Echo can engage with one another better moving forwards. Be handy if them and say Phil Smith get a rep for being solid with their info, especially when other media outlets are hoying ****e around. It would be a quick and effective way to nip bollocks in the bud; Sun prints ****, Donald texts Smith, Echo print truth.

I never said he stated it as fact though? I said that it was from smug who I am inclined to believe. He may be wrong, I just thought it was interesting that Donald didn't deny that he wanted to be involved.

He also did very specifically say it was Donald holding up the deal.

If Donald wants an open relationship with fans he could do a column monthly or whatever.

That’s a way of keeping involved without being wide open to abuse.

We all liked having an open book on the club but that went to far, a middle ground would be nice if it could be managed.

He’s been ahead of every other journalist on this story since it started in mid August. Might have got details wrong at times (even our ITKs will admit to that) but he’s obviously got more insight than most
I thought it was ostriches that had their heads in the sand not TURTLES!!!
