Similar dilemma.... my time here in the Middle East is coming to an end... but not sure where to retire... back to North East, or South Africa where the current Mrs F is from... just cannot see her settling in Houghton

Have a lot of family over there, parents originally form Sunderland... believe me a lot of them would prefer Sunderland over certain parts of SA at the moment...
Ive bought a flat here, trying to get the Mrs to sell up and move up... lots of positives as well as negatives to be had in the north east... bit like our club really....

I think it's a better idea to PM level headed people to ponder something than post something for the general idiots to twist and cause hysteria on all boards again.

I personally think the North East is really ****ing vibrant right now.

The big concern is brexit, and how that effects Nissan.

The cities are developing really nicely currently, and we’ve always had beautiful coast and countryside.

Politically its a nightmare and if you live in the big cities..Jo"burg, Durban or Cape Town its very violent. But we are considering The Western Cape (The Garden Route) nothing of that krap there at all... My issue is apart from the Mrs...is my grandkids.
 
Italy is introducing a law, that anybody foreign or national of Italy that hasn't lived and payed into the Italian social system can now work their first two years tax free... Just signed a year contract with a new employer in Naples. See ya in two years guys :emoticon-0103-cool::afro:

*not bragging I'm still earning peanuts haha
