Is this from a reliable source? Not doubting you, its just I've heard a few people suggest this would be sensible, so I'm hoping it's come from someone who might know, as opposed to being rumour which is being passed on as truth! Any investment from these people would be amazing news for the long term future of the club, if they take a minority share I think it's news that is nearly as good as hearing they've taken 100
I'm sure Smaug mentioned this a week or so ago.
It makes sense.
Just announce it will you!

It's looking good. I have given a couple summaries but things have hotted in the last 30 minutes.

Here goes

Smug is still going for posh food, no update on what he's having
Someone hurt their thumb
Someone found a poo emoji behind their tv
No update on the state of the spoons marquee
I've bought 300 pitchforks (possibly available cheap)
There is a new series of something on netflix

Oh and someone mentioned something about the Americans investing for now and not a full takeover

Over the road, well it would be quicker to put what SD, Ellis Short and the Americans haven't done

The Americans investing slowly at first would also give us the time to build on solid foundations, not on the sand of relying on a mega rich man

Would also explain the fairly sudden departure of Ross. SD showing he can make the tough decisions

Absolutely agree mate. That JR decision hurt Donald.

You can cover something with paragraphs but individual words are more natural and telling.

Again, my reading of Donald on Jack could easily fit with ‘me and Jack spoke, and we agreed the clubs future and the investment were the most important thing’.

Runs alongside ‘we agreed it was better if we parted ways’, his actual words.

He didn’t say ‘he’d had a go’’he’d taken as far as he could’ etc. It’s was carefully worded.

‘Would give us the best chance of achieving promotion’. Yeah, again, utterly reliant on us spending in January.

This ain’t straw clutching this is analysing words and statements and I’m convinced this is where it’s going, for now <laugh>

I agree that what you've posted sounds perfectly plausible, just one thing though, has he ever said takeover? He might have done like but I thought he'd always just said investment?

I’m sure he did. Couple weeks before the Consett event. When it was chugging along. I notice things like that, because words are honesty, whereas statements sometimes aren’t.

It would. And I'd absolutely take it and be over the moon. My only concern would be Donald having too much of a say over the football side, really think it would need a DoF type to come in, it would probably be the best investment they could make at this stage

Add to that the statement Ross released through the LMA where it read that he was genuinely gutted to have failed.

Ok I’ve heard this

MSD to invest (no takeover yet). Long term ideas for club, unsure which ones from msd are investing or if Dell is.
The Don and Meth Will be involved in some capacity. We are near the L1 equivalent of FFP so wouldn’t expect huge transfers immediately till finance review
yesterday it was all but done but a few things checked before announcing
Hopefully true and sounds like a sensible option imo....dip yr toe in and see how it goes, ties in with JR leaving if SD didn't think he could achieve promotion this season too.

Charlie Methven has just said:
There have been a lot of rumours and things said that are simply not true. The talks to attract investor - we have never said it is a takeover - remains ongoing. Those discussion have been going on for some time but we must stress, this is about planning for the future in the Championship, but we need to get promoted first. We need to get out of League One for the next part of the project to begin.

Even if the new money came in now, we wouldn’t be able to do much with it in League One because of Financial Fairplay rules, but we have always said, we want to plan ahead. There is no great urgency, but I understand some people are frustrated by that. But we cannot force people to part with their money and, as things stand, they may or may not be investing in the club.

It would also pressure the current lot to Yp their game. If they want the riches of the future they need to invest in success themselves.

God.. sounds like another few months of this

I always had a feeling that we would end up with something but not the extent of all 3 ploughing millions in. My only problem is we were fed similar patter in respect to satories role but i dont know what he has actually invested.

It's probably my over excited brain but you could piece together some bits from what has been posted to come up with

The Americans originally wanted to takeover then realised the hassle it would be owning a club 3,000 miles away
They and SD then agreed to them investing and SD staying to run the club
Negotiations etc go on as its a complicated business
The Americans notice we are not doing very well in the league and start to ask questions about promotion, can SD make the tough decisions
More negotiation, our form drops a bit more, the natives get a bit more restless
The Americans question if its worth trusting SD
SD sacks Ross and announces "to give us the best chance of promotion"
Everyone kisses and makes up, has a few pints and signs up
