Nothing to with a mag posting, one of the first posts I saw when logging on again was someone being told to f*** off, it seems to have been deleted which is great to see swift action.
Would that be post [HASHTAG]#4044[/HASHTAG]?
I was replying to a nice person who asked me a question?
I agree it has nothing to do with your takeover, but kindly **** off.

Had a quick google and perhaps the yanks could set up a feeder club in the US. SAFC has a few things going for it that could be beneficial in regards to marketing.

Firstly Sunderland is the ancestral home of their first president and we all know how patriotic Americans are overall.

Secondly, there's a town called Sunderland in Massachusetts. Most American sports are franchised so they could potentially buy a 2nd tier team over there and relocate them to Sunderland MA.

The third and most important part is that a river runs through Sunderland MA so they would be able to name the new club Sunderland River Sluts <cheers>

I’m good mate. Haven’t seen him for a while, but I’ll ask him next time I see him. <ok>
I’m getting wrong on here for derailing threads <laugh>

It's a transitional period for the board mate.

As you'll accept people, who suffered idiotic wums and Mags on RTG, are wary of this board becoming the same.

It'll settle down and a natural order will emerge ...

... you'll be at the bottom, obviously :emoticon-0105-wink:

Why not post on the RTG thread, people will find you.

So then.

About this takeover?

I've been out all day(ish) and the last I heard was that SD may in the USA to conclude the deal.
Has there been any confirmation of this?

Obviously <ok>
I’ll have a look.
Haven’t been on any boards for a while, but this seems unusually busy.

Edit: had a look, to long to read

Lets be honest, the club hasn't moved forward and been in Limbo since the Play off defeat. He always stated that he needed investment to take the club forward but what he did was make the club as investable as possible for the future buyers i.e getting rid of high earners and only sign players which really aren't better than what is already there so the wage bill is at bare minimum. Unfortunately this has been to the detriment of this seasons prospects as the football club on the pitch has taken a back seat and just is not good enough for automatic promotion this season and possibly not even the play offs.
It wasnt rocket science to do the things he did and which needed doing.
You reduce costs and the major cost at any club is player wages. He has reduced them.
However flogging maja and buying grigg has proven to be a howler. We may not pay 4m for him but we thrown away 3m. He has proven not up to c'ship standard and no one in this pub league will pay ( or can afford ) 3m to take him off our hands.
We flogged a merc and used the proceeds to buy a mondeo.
The fundamentals of the club remain strong.
Good gates ( ie good revenue ), a good brand name, excellent facilities ( training and stadium ).
Bowyer and wilder still managed to get out of this league with a hell of a lot less and both teams would love our crowds and facilities even now.
Our problem is simple...Ross

You do know that he had no choice regarding Maja? He was going to refuse to play if we didn't let him go..

Aye, the football side is the one bit I'll criticise Donald for. When we had Bain getting paid a fortune I consistently said that doing what he was doing (cost cutting while we flew backwards through the leagues) was piss easy, I always said the hard thing, the thing worth paying big money for, was someone who could cut costs whilst still keeping the side competitive on the pitch. I can't really give that criticism to Bain without acknowledging that Donald, currently, is doing similar. He's cut costs, but at the expense currently of looking like we're going to stagnate in league one without a huge takeover. He needs this to go through as much as we do

Read my post!
I never said we could have or should have kept maja. I know that wasnt kn ross's remit
I said we shouldnt have used the proceeds on grigg. They have been a waste.
Maybe a proper manager might have extracted some of Briggs alleged quality. That manager certainly isn't and never will be ross.

Not alleged IMO, same goes for Wyke, their records in this division is first class.

The mistake was not made in signing players with a lack of quality but we signed players who don't fit the team and at this point don't look interested.

No doubt in my mind that Ross wanted a player like McNulty in last season and Sunderland being Sunderland we failed to do so.
