RIP , Your Majesty.
I remember your Coronation so well, we had a street party held in the Salvation Army Citadel . A lady who lived in our street paid for some of us children to have a taxi ride round Hull, I was 7 and it was the first time I had been in a car. Little did I know that 14 years later I would be taking an oath to you.
A great loss to our country.

Actress Gwyneth Powell, who played head teacher Mrs McClusky in teen soap opera Grange Hill, has died aged 76.

The Manchester-born actress loomed over the series for 10 years from 1981, as the stern-but-fair headmistress.

She also played Greg Davies' mother Polly in the Channel 4 sitcom Man Down, and appeared in shows like Holby City, A Touch Of Frost and Heartbeat.

Her representative Matthew Lacey said Powell had died "of complications following a major operation".

Someone truly deserving of rememembrance. What a shame that so many think that Hollywood misrepresentation The Great Escape was an accurate version of events.
Yep. Read Paul Brickhill,s novel. Fantastic reading with excellent historical chapters on hunting down the culprits of the shootings even into the 1950,s.
