Hello All,

Long time no post from me!

In all seriousness to this thread, are no saints fans making a stand here? It is quite obvious to us, who have been through the asset stripping phase a number of times, that this is exactly what is happening to SFC at present.

How long before the Premier League make a stand against these "owners" who use football clubs as play things only to take the money and run when the fad wears off?

£75m in and not really anyone of any worth coming in to match....I guarantee that Koeman will reach the end of August deadline day having spent a fraction of the "war chest" available to him and the fans will be left in the dark.

As we are now aware, as Pompey fans, that the fans are the only constant in football - now if a team is being asset stripped (it is, no one can really deny that) then surely something must be done?

I don't often agree with SB3 - but on this occasion I think he is spot on and SFC will find themselves deep in the mire come Christmas. When KL doesn't spend in the January window (Selling more players no doubt) and then sells up next summer when they are a Championship team then where does it stop?

Fit and Proper testing still is not happening!

Well mike this post and the many to follow has gone very wrong and flat, along with the hat you said you would eat lol

I think at the end of the day Southampton have made some very good sales and bought some decent replacements.
I still think they paid way over the odds for Long, the others well time will tell.

It's fair to say they don't have as strong a squad as before, but I can't see them going down either. It's too early to say but midtable seems likely to me.

be an interesting ride for the stripeys thats for sure.......players in......players out.......... Keoman is going to be the key for them.....personally I dont think he will cut it in the premier league.....unless he can adapt his style of play. Mid table at best, after a run of bad results leading up to the chrimbo period......or is that just wishful thinking <laugh>

He will probably vanish from sight for 2 years like he did when it all went wrong for Pompey a couple of years ago. All of a sudden made a comeback when he thought it was going wrong for us, so dont hold your breath waiting for a reply. :emoticon-0140-rofl:

I disagree Meowth (but not about staying up or finishing mid-table). The first XI may be, on paper, slightly weaker than last season, but the squad is arguably of better consistent quality throughout.

I think in general we have a stronger squad and possibly a better team if Ronald can get these new players playing 100% his way.

One lucky win does not make a season, expect disappointment and plenty of it. I still believe you Scummers will go down and that the bad Fraulein Liebfraumilch will keep trousering up to £50 mn a time in her lederhosen pockets!<laugh> <laugh>

Think you need to look at the match stats SB. That was total domination. The only way we will get relegated is in your dreams.

If you think signing Saddo Mane(sounds like a pony fiddler to me) and Toby Ultra Weardo will save you , think again! What a waste of money, they must have seen you coming, no doubt the fee and loan are being paid on the never , never til you start selling again in the next transfer window!<laugh> <laugh>

You are forgetting SB we beat Millwall and thrashed West Ham without both of them. NOt sure Pompey are in a position to talk about the never never. Although in your case it was never ever:grin:

I'm still here but float in and out of posting due to work commitments.

A good result for you at West Spam, I'll give you that. Had Scneidelin forced through his transfer I wouldn't be saying that though.

I agree with Meowth, your team is no where near as string as last year and you have certainly overpaid for players (but that's not your fault, but the markets fault - some crazy transfers happening!)

I still think you will struggle this year. I have not changed my opinion but will have the plate waiting for my hat if I am proved wrong.

Please remember that this still isn't "your money" but that of the owners. If she bolts you are in trouble, the same as all sugar mummy owned clubs. It happened to us, it can happen to you.

Let's see where you stand at Xmas... I may jot post often, but I float about!

Our owner is going nowhere. She and the Board have delivered on their promise and also made a healthy profit. We now have a deeper squad with very little loss in quality. I'm looking forward to the hat eating!

You could nearly say that of any of the clubs owners could you not.......Well maybe not the small clubs that are in cooperatives but certainly any of the others. <whistle>

Well, SB3, you could be right! COULD be. Fortunately, there is absolutely no sign of any of that happening.

Apparently, making a healthy profit in the transfer window and creating a stronger squad, is a terrible thing? Maybe you wish we'd spent more than we got? Maybe you're upset we didn't do a "Pompey" and go bust while still in the Premier League? (Still a unique record <applause> )
