I may go off for a day or so and when I come back hit the little blue bit for new posts,fs and look to my right and see 2/3 pages I haven't read yet. It's getting like hard work now, roll on September. And in answer to some one mentioned today "what country sells off their resources and gets poorer" well us,the Corrib gas field off the west of Ireland.Shell doing the work we're getting a percentage and yes 'thick paddy' applies in this case.

Alex the fat **** Salmond's hopes of keeping the pound in the event of Scotland gaining independence are no more than a "dead parrot", MPs have warned.

In a scathing assessment of the Scottish First Minister's blueprint for an independent Scotland, the Commons Scottish Affairs committee said that no chancellor could agree to share the pound through a currency union "without totally destroying both their political and economic credibility".

This comes after Danny Alexander, George Osborne and Ed Balls rubbished any prospect on behalf of the three main parties of a currency union being agreed to share the pound with Scotland if it votes for independence in September's referendum.

The committee praised the MPs for their "necessary clarity", explaining: "A joint currency would be against the best interests of both the continuing United Kingdom and a separate Scotland... also because the people of Scotland deserve to know, before the referendum, what the true consequence of their vote might be."

The MPs warned that Scottish independence, and the resultant loss of the pound sterling, would have "far reaching consequences throughout Scotland but nowhere more so than Scotland's financial services industry".

The committee urged the Scottish government "must move quickly to provide information as to how it intends to protect the thousands of jobs dependent upon this vital part of the Scottish economy".

Labour MP Ian Davidson, chair of the committee, said: "There will be no currency union between a separate Scotland and the continuing United Kingdom. No currency union of any kind: no ifs, no buts, no fudges, no deals. We have had complete clarity and openness on this from George Osborne, Ed Balls and Danny Alexander: from the leadership of the three main political parties in the United Kingdom. There is no shadow of doubt. All were unequivocal.

"The Scottish Government tries to give the impression that a currency union is still a possibility. It is not. This parrot is dead." :D

...no this ****e again.

Currency union is good for both an independent Scotland and the UK.

No currency union is not so good for both an independent Scotland and the UK.

I wonder what will happen?

It the same old tired bulls**t though...nothing new!

Vote Yes...Scotland suddenly becomes a utopia or a third world country

Vote No...we'll be great together or we're going to f** Scotland right up.

No-one is outlining the real facts of what independence or staying in union will mean.

My signature says it all.

^^ this didn't happen ^^

I work in the East End of Glasgow and haven't seen one food bank ever.

This tweet is like most of the nameless and faceless **** the Yesers use. Much like the MORI poll a few months ago, which was exclusively revealed in a newspater LETTERS PAGE from a supposed Ipsos MORI employee (the pollers), that showed the Yes shooting into the lead. You may recall ST ****ing fisting himself into a fury at this 'cover-up' sanctioned by the UK government, but when challenged, MORI said that the woman in the paper who wrote the letter didn't work for them as she claimed and they had never heard of her.

Needless to say, not one poll since then has shown the Nationalists in the lead, indeed it seems their momentum has stalled as their only financial policy of - "but the oil!" doesn't resonate with most Jocks nor does this ridiculous notion that somehow Scots are fairer than the Nige's.

What's the point in Independence if we're going to share the same currency? What's the point in Independence when the Bank of ENGLAND will govern interest rates, issue bonds, be in charge of further QE which could destabilise the currency?

Then Salmond's secret policy which he dare not mention to the socialists is that he's going to undercut the Nigels when it comes to Corporation Tax to tempt business' to Scotland, much like the Irish have done. How will the BoE or indeed, the rUK think of that?

FFS, if you're going independent, then use your own currency?
