I havent listened to it but none of the quotes in the written text say anything like that. Did he say something extra? The way i read the text is exactly what he should say. If he said he was desperate to get out that would be taken as a constructive transfer request and he'd lose all his money owed.

Didnt we publicly chase him as soon as the season finished but were put off by the £4m price-tag? That's the way I seem to remember it.

We may have done, but I can't find details. All I can find is newspaper stories from April saying that fulham may be willing to sell him for up to 4mill to raise funds to buy stekelenberg (sp). Couldn't find anything to say we'd made an approach.

Beats me ... makes Jimmy Bullard's wages look like a sensible investment in comparison (you surely recouped some income from hair product royalties at least?) ... Proud seems to think it was more like £30k a week for Beckford - but even at that it's ridiculous ... you'd think the bugger would at least run for that... he didn't.
